So after many hours of measurements, cursing, laughing and crying we've finally done it. I can honestly say that I'm truly excited about this product and the best part is that its completely home grown. Enough talking cause here come the pictures (please forgive the chu scope its just for mock up)

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the Rauch Tactical side mounting optics rail for the VZ58:

Circled in this pic is the movable eye relief stopper. This can be moved to any of the threaded holes in the rail in 1/2 inch increments. This way you can remove or add a red dot or scope with repeatable zero. Also as you can see in the pic the shell deflector can be removed should you be using a red dot mounted over the dust cover and not wish to use it.

The following pics show the optic mounted in two positions so you can see that it actually works ;) :D.

Also if you look close you may also see some other Rauch Tactical future goodies :D

Well I must say that looks like a versatile mount. Many possible configurations and the ability to make changes between red dot and conventional scope without alot of fuss. It looks like it can accomodate alot of different VZ/CZ user needs/wants. Bravo!:)

very interesting sean, a combo mount , versatile indeed . its gonna be in the optic sticky .

how is it screwed? from the inside to the mount?

ridgearms you bring up a good point that I forgot to mention. The shell deflector you see is the only part that isn't final production, we have several designs that will be range tested this weekend if all goes well and the final well be chosen and posted ASAP.

Yes the final price is going to be $125

Curtton the bolts come through the inside of the reciever and the mount is threaded. Installation is really easy, easier then it looks. A smith should have this mounted and ready to go in about half an hour or less. The bolts can tighten to around 80 foot pounds and it won't be going anywhere.

So preliminary range report is good. Optic was removed and replaced with minimal to no loss of zero and function was great. We should have the final product ready for sale vary shortly.

Excellent job, an great product at a reasonable price, best of all you're local. I have a feeling ill be doing lots more business with you in the future. what drilling, tapping do the receivers require?

Three holes will need to be drilled in the receiver, no tapping. It is very easy to do but I still need to recommend you either have us or your smith do the work for legal reasons.

The rail is steel coated with manganese phosphate, the shell deflector will either be hardened steel or stainless blackened. Manganese phosphate is an advanced parkerizing which will give you superior perform ace over regular parkerizing.

For serious operators all our steel parts can be made in Aluminum or Stainless at extra cost and by special order. This would be directed towards users who will require the corrosion resistance these metals provide.

Any more questions keep them coming. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not close to my guns to check right now, but doesn't that totally cover the serial and model stampings?

How is it held in place? Rivets?

Also, will you be selling the mounts? Is there a mount that is lower and has just a picatinny rail on it?

Thanks.

Bolts that come through the reciever. There are a variety of mounts available, most if not all have a weaver rail. We are looking to make one inhouse but not right away.

KASAT had a pretty smart mount designed that accomplished the same thing cheaper with no need to drill.
Just so everyone's eyes are open.
