Any reason not to buy a sig?

Without question the sig 226 has to be the nicest pistol on the market. I mean its true eye candy. I had a 226R never had an issue with the gun. I did find the grip rather larger but still felt good in the hands. Very accurate. The only thing I did not like on the pistol was the heavy double action pull. I prefer the ugly looking Glock "safe action" trigger. That is it.

I agree, I have had pretty much everything in modern combat pistols and the P226 is hands down my favorite all around pistol.
 
Lefties left out.

Most Sigs are difficult for left handers, and with the exception of the SAO premium priced Sigs, Sig just doesn't care.
Since the Sigs do not have the barrel bushing lockup of the fabulous 1911, Sig barrel lockup is essentially no different than the truly fine S&W M&P, the Glock, the Beretta, etc.
Sigs fall into the premium priced arena. That means they cost more, but are no more accurate than the above mentioned guns. For my money a G17 will fire just as well as a Sig, cost less, and you can drop in better barrels and triggers for less cost.

i got a navy , and love it nothing wrong with the navy, and you can go swimming with it, (as long as it has the phosphated internals like it should)

Actually you can go swimming in the ocean with it, many do! :D The Sig design has been around for 30 years, and it shows - there will be no nasty surprises.The design has reached a point where there's really nothing to improve. The options now center around trigger action and finishes. The last problem I heard about with Sig pistols was more than 20 years ago, and was fixed very quickly indeed.
 
One of the downfalls of Sigs are the mags. It doesn't take much to break them. I broke 3 in 2 days a few months ago and not from hard use either.

howd they break ?
was it a factory sig mag or a mecgar one ?
was it the 40/357 ones or 9mm ?

i only have the 9mm factory ones with the hollow bottom .
the funny thing is the first time i loaded a full 10rds in it . i said that bottom plastic extension thing. looked like it was just gonna burst right off ...

is that what happend to you ? ( mine hasnt yet , but i swear one of these days i think it will)
 
Factory 9mm, 1 had plastic bottom, 2 were the all metal ones (IIRC). One exploded when dropped from the mag well. The other 2 lost the bottom when I was slamming them in while reloading. The mags were used, but I wasn't abusing them. Also, their replacement price is ####ing ridiculous.
Never had an issue with Glock mags
 
Well...I thought I was going to buy a new one, but looks like I found a great one from a fellow gunnnutter and saved a few bucks. Now we just have to wait for the transfer!

hmmm...how long is the transfer time on a T-shirt? Would the tank top version be considered a prohib?
 
Congratulations on taking the plunge. You won't regret buying a Sig. For those who say the accuracy of the Sig is no better than a Glock, M&P etc I would have to respectfully disagree and I think if you took a poll either here on CGN or on pretty much any other gun site anywhere you would get a consensus that Sigs have above-average accuracy. The only negative I can raise about the the Sig is that they are a bit pricey and you can match or exceed the accuracy and ergonomics (but perhaps not the finish quality) with CZ for significantly less money.
 
I hate the grip on the glock and hk, and the berreta but the sig fits me just fine. I have a 226 in .40, and 7 factory mecgar mags, no issues yet. I can see with the plastic 9mm bases how they would fall apart(one reason I went with the .40).
