Hi Everyone...
I'd like some help with a decision...
I'm looking to upgrade my Savage... It is currently a 12FV (.223) that has a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock on it...
I was thinking of upgrading the barrel to a faster twist and match grade, but then got thinking... should I upgrade the action at the same time?
(Ideally, the Savage LRPV single shot would come with a right port/right bolt, and the decision would be easy)
I was thinking of getting one of the new precision target actions, in a right bolt/right port configuration (I'm not sure I like the left port), in a single shot... my question, then, is:
Will the precision target action (in a single shot, smaller ejection port, target accu-trigger) make that big of a difference over a standard savage action that can be "accurized"?
I'd like to stay with .223, but shoot heavier bullets.
Thanks
EB
