Where in Ontario was the record moose taken? please tell. I dont get Out Of Doors but have a whole pile of old issues that we're given to me and never read anything on it. Must have been taken recently?

FYI, Thats not JK and he was not the shooter. I believe he just took some of the pics. He is a local writer.

NICE MOOSE!!

(Ontario does have some of the biggest moose in the world.) I think it's the eastern breed. Alaskans are huge, as well as the ruskys.

Canada Moose in Ontario. Northern BC has the biggest Canada moose, they tend to decrease in size as you go east, though AB,SK,MB, and NW Ont are similar in size.

Real nice bull, looks like it could come from the Yukon!!!!!!

Fred Hilliard, of Thunder Bay. Shot Nov. 15/08. Green Score of 229, present Ont. record of 220 7/8 iinches.
Spread 64 in, palm lengths, just over 40 in, Widths 17-19 in, and 15 points on each side. Bases on main beams 8 in on each side.

Try explaining to a Conservation officer why the tag is not on when it get's ripped off after getting caught on a branch hauling a moose out of the bush!
Been there, done that, no charge because reasonable Con officer, BUT their not all that way! We quit putting the tag on TILL you hit clear & easy going!
You may not realize it but sometimes laws don't make common sense & are best ignored!
