Truvelo Raptor.
What do you think? Any chance to get this in in proper NR or R config? Looks similar to a Galil but the receiver looks a little longer.....might have different internals, who knows....

I have spoken to them regarding another project. I don't believe the raptor went into real production. Why buy that over an AK, Galil, etc.

Not to put words in Clobbs mouth, but i really don't think he was concerned about the LE/MIL market. In fact i'm pretty sure he was asking if these would fit the requirements for importation to Canada. Seeing as the Tavor was such a success, why not something else? But you've also mentioned that you are working on another project, so i'm sure it will be worth waiting for.

Anyways.... Happy New Year, looking forward to the firing pin spring kits for the Tavor.

Technically no. But what advantage does it offer the LE/MIL customer over the AK? i.e. why go into production with no market.

I see your point. Perhaps they intended this to be the Cadilac of AK's:D? According to their website they seem to think it's quite accurate. Is IMI even selling their Galil's anymore?

P.S. This rifle would sell like freaken hot cakes here. In any config. (I realize they wouldn't produce a batch just for us, but who knows, perhaps we would be the tipping point?:D

Sorry, I guess I am not clear. I am simply pointing out that they are likely not even being made because they have no market, thus importation is moot.

Yes, there are lots of Galils available. I don't know if there are still making them in series production. IWI is kind of a boutique manufaturer, like Swissarms.

Looks like they still might be preparing to produce the Raptor. This pic was from the Africa Aerospace and Defense Exhibition in September 2008. They've changed it quite a bit.

I am sure they are trying to sell them. I can't think who would buy them except us. If you were offered a $250 Bulgarian/Russian AK, vs a $1000 raptor, which would you choose?

Well, it is not like you have to import every single black rifle outthere, even it is garbage!!!!

Incorrect. It's his job, no duty, to import all black rifles available, even if they have no chance of selling, and especially if they are garbage.:D

We want availability of all black rifles at low, low prices and mags available at all times (even holidays and weekends):ar15:

That rail/carrying handle was the inspiration for the 'Marshall Rail' that will be released soon. I made some images for John Marshall, and he made it.

This is the prototype. I just added the 'duckbill' as a concept.

Well there would be a civy market here if it was indeed non restricted. The receiver looks quite a bit different than an AK.

If there is not enough product uptake made up from globally purchased units, it will be hard to convince the bean counters to approve it for production runs.
