How about offering this as a service for people who already own the rifle? Personally I wouldn't mind sending you my rifle to have a mount fitted and the carrier modified!
Here is a brake down of pricing for each item if you were to do it piece meal:
1. Carrier - $50 (this is the only true mod that I know of that will address the issue)
2. Crome lined bore - you would have to find one for sale.
3. furniture - ~$315
4. Strip and recoat the rifle. ~$100
5. Scope mount $125 plus mounting.
6. Muzzle brake - ~$70
7. Rear sight ~$65
8. Trigger job ~$50
That is ~$600+ in modifications plus $650 for the rifle. $1000+/-Seems like a fair deal to me.
Here is my breakdown:
1. Carrier - $.10 for the mount of welding wire I would use and a piece of scrap 12 gauge sheet steel.
2. Crome lined bore - VZ58S's already have chrome bores.
3. furniture - $60 for the czech folding stock, the factory front wood is adequate.
4. Strip and recoat the rifle. $0 - what's wrong with the grey epoxy paint?
5. Scope mount $0 because if I wanted to shoot laser beams, I'd bring my Swiss Arms Classic Green, not a leadslinger like a VZ58.
6. Muzzle brake - $0. C'mon now - really - do you NEED a muzzle break for 7.62x39???
7. Rear sight ~$0 - the stock sights work great for 100 yards.
8. Trigger job ~$0 - I can probably stone the sear just as well as anyone.
Total cost: $60.10, or just $.10 if I forego the folding stock![]()

if the rear sight gets moved to the back like a galil I am in.
Yea thats great, thanks for your useless input. Good luck in just welding a piece of soft steel to your hardened bolt carrier. Our service will not leave you with a dangerous solution to a harmless problem. I guess our countless hours of investment and thousands of dollars in equipment and R&D mean nothing right? I guess people in Canada would be better off if nobody cared about this market. Nobody said you had to buy one. Thanks again for your input.
Point of clarity: This package would include the non restriced crome lined barrel not the standard restricted barrel.
