Dlask 6.5" (Post#89 for Review and Pics)

It won't take Iggy long to plug the minimum barrel length loophole.

hell ya!!! is it non restricted?
:D
If its OAL => 26" and it is not a semi then it is non-restricted.

Let's grab reality firmly by the horns with regard to the newest fad gun.....snubbie shottys.

They prohibited my SPAS-12 & the snubbie shotties look much nastier than it did.

How long do you think it'll be before the Socialist Coalition or Iggy's Liberals pass legislation or an OIC mandating minimum barrel lengths (say 16") on ALL center fire long guns and transferring the existing short barreled guns into the restricted class, another grandfathered prohibited class or confiscating them altogether now that the snubbie shottys are becoming a fad??

My guess is not very fraken long.

If the below doesn't look like a BLACK OPS gun then nothing does.

I'm well aware of how unpopular the TRUTH is on this board.

Ask the guys who had expensive Feather 22s, SPASs, H&Ks, Benellis confiscated & received nothing for them in the 90's after Bill C-17 how it feels to hand your legally acquired property over to a smirking cop when you've done absolutely nothing wrong .

My favorite brush deer rifle was a light as a feather .30 Planfield M-1 carbine I bought at an Army Surplus store in Timmins, Ontario (Alberts) with a 18" barrel.

I've never had a gun that was so quick to point before or since except perhaps for my new Dominion Arms Grizzly pump shotgun.

Mulroney's Liberal lite governments Bill C-17 reclassified it from non-restricted to restricted and I dumped it when I could no longer take it to the bush.

These compact shottys are great pack sack survival guns & heavy brush hunters but if something seems too good to last......it usually doesn't.

I'll bet a dollar to a doughnut that most of the guys kicking out hundreds of dollars to acquire snubbie shottys balked at the $45 annual membership fee to join the CSSA to help ensure they can KEEP their new acquisitions.

While they look evil to the uninitiated, as long as they're promoted as a backpack survival gun there should be few issues. Also since most gangbangers get their guns smuggled from the US, snubby shotguns will not be nearly as available as pistols, AKS or SMGs so there should be less likelyhood of their cropping up in these hands. In addition, they're somewhat specialized and require a modicum of extra care in operating them so they will be probably be used by experienced shooters (if you gave a bunch of these to typical coke-snorting crack -smoking right handed gangbangers, in a few months most of them would be called "lefty", like Saudi Arabian thieves:evil:), so their desirability to the criminal element (except for the LCF) will again be less.

I'm more worried about the "Whaddayaneedthatfor" and "if it's not illegal, it should be" reaction from the fudds who see these (along with any other black rifle or handgun) as guns to be scapegoated and confiscated so they can be left alone with their thutty-thuttys, ought-sixes and twelve gauges. This sets up a divide and conquer scenario which will be jumped on by the pinko politicians and hoplophobes ( and they can smell these situations better than any hound dog on the planet). Even the conservatives, while trumpeting the need to eliminate the long gun registry, have said nothing about all the irritating restrictions on restricteds and prohibs currently in place- and these are the ones they could do something about without going to parliament, the same way they were put in in the first place.

I look at it and it just screams handgun. I can't see how much longer these things will remain unrestricted.
:D

I'm predicting that center fire long gun barrel lengths will need to be a minimum of 16" (consistent with current US NFA definition of "short barrel" shotgun) to remain in the non-restricted class in Canada when the next socialist federal government happens.

The snubby shotguns (barrels < 16") will be relegated to the gun safes or the blast furnaces depending on how bold the socialists of the day are.

If someone is shot with a legal or illegal short barrel shotgun during a socialist regime the snubby shotguns will be prohibited & confiscated.

I'm actually surprised the CFO Collective hasn't manufactured another roll your own "law" to kibosh the snubby shotguns to date.

I repeat.........how many of you that are spending hundreds of dollars on snubby shotguns haven't ponied up a measly $45 to join & support the CSSA so you might have a fighting chance of keeping your new acquisitions????

How about some people stop feeding the antis with our own home grown fear and self regulation, and embrace a wonderful, new, practical-ish tool (it`ll obviously be a little better in a beta format). That shotty is beautiful, and would look great in all of our collections and out in the field with us as we camp, hunt and poop with our rifles just a little too far away. I love this trend to legal shorties, it shows how resourceful and unrelenting firearms enthusiasts in Canada are, especially in the light of the fact we can`t take restricteds into the woods for fun or protection, or keep them handy for self defence.

Long live the shorty and all the cool dudes that think èm up and do it. huzza!!!
