Russian SKS45 long thread.

From what I've read, I'm wondering if there's much actual difference from hand-selects and shooter's grade from Frontier, other than the price.

Apparently mine"missed a transfer" so I have to wait until Monday... Sigh. Whatever! Pout! I am beginning to think I should have just bought one out here. Grrrr.

Yep.. that's pretty much how I felt. These rifles took wayyyyyy too long. I was just about to go nuts before I just went out and bought mine locally.

Just got mine in today :D . It's a hand picked Tula 1953. Looks to be all matching...not force matched. The star with arrow and date on top cover. The wood on the hand guard is a bit scratched up, but should be an easy fix. Looks pretty minty other wise.

Nice SKS, and nice speed triple :)

Got mine tpday. It is the same as Ryushi. Serial numbers match, 1953r and a star stamped on the cover. No sign of any numbers covered up. It was hand picked. Thanks Marlin, iam very happy. Now to check Curtton list to see what i have, thank you Curtton and all you folks with info.AGE

What is force matched? I just got mine today and all the numbers matched. I ordered a shooters grade from Frontier. It is in nice shape but has deep grooves on the stock from the crate. I think it looks great. Sorry, no pics as of now. Not alot of cosmo on it either.

I received mine today. Overall, it seems to be pretty nice. Mine was a hand select, and it appears to be a 55 or 56, as there is no date on the top cover. It is a refurb, and the only crappy thing is it is not a matching numbers gun (the mag is a mismatch-forced match with electro pencil). I think it has only been lightly used, but you folks can see the picture of the hammer - you be the judge. The stock appears to be the original (it is a laminate), as do all the other parts I have looked at so far (bolt, receiver, trigger housing, stock - #'s all match. Only the mag is different. Honestly, had I known this before, I probably would have went with a shooter grade, as I really wanted an all matching #'s gun. However, this one looks good and I am happy with it.

Being a refurb, I seriously doubt the stock is original - though that might be the only gun that stock has ever been on.

you may have the rare , original laminated .

questions:

1. do you have a star stamped on the left side of receiver ?

2. do you have inspection marks stamped around the forward coss bolt ?

Yeah, I am pretty impressed. My packages measurements are:
10 Lbs (47 x 47 x 47 in)
57 Lbs (14 x 14 x 14 in)
But I think they are like the unicorn....

hmm.... mine only has the 14x14x14 57lbs on it

hopefully when I go back to DHL in a half hour, they have it dug up off the truck again, they said their computer doesnt show anything for the package though, no size, weight, or even who shipped it to me, other than 'Customer'

probably why my hold for pickup thing didnt work
