Russian SKS45 long thread.

Smartbomb, as eos stated, extend the bayonet, remove the trigger assembly and magazine. Place the carbine across your lap, muzzle to the left, sights up.

Grab the rear upper receiver tightly with your left hand, then with your right hand, strike sharply with your right palm downward on the pistol grip portion of the stock. It might take several sharp strikes. This works for the M1 rifle.

Either you have an extremely tight fitting stock, or the metal has corroded and bonded with the wood.
 
Oh yeah.. I've done this before on my non-refurb with no problems at all.
Everything else has been removed, and bayonet is extended, yadda yadda yadda. I'm kinda thinking the wood warped or something due to moisture during its 50 years of storage, and shrank onto the metal... or something. I'm hoping it isn't cause the metal has corroded... then i'd be choked.

Yep.. that's pretty much how it is. It's on there really really tight. I'm kind of out of ideas. The only thing left to do really, is to put it in a vice, and hammer it out... but I'm not gonna do that, so I guess I'll just leave it like this. The bad thing is... I cleaned the thing in boiling water and I can't dry out the parts of the action I can't get to. It seems to be fine though... no rust on the parts I can see.

Boiling water = swelled wood
 
Wow - rusted metal, rusted chamber, heavy pitting on one gun and a damaged chamber on a hand select!?!

I'd be calling and arranging an exchange if it were me.
 
People have some crazy ideas for guns these days... I'm surprised no one has decided to put their collections in shopping carts and run them through the local car wash :p
