Walther PP/PPK

32 ammo is prohib , so you cant just buy a 7.65 ppk and add a longer barrel. you have to get the 22 or 380 version ,

besides bonds was a 7.65.. so if you got a 22 or 380 , it would be like getting the tim dalton version ,

ya bond used a baby browing 25acp during the second world war while he was in naval intelligence, and had a beretta 418 25acp in the begining of dr no.
but in the books, he has a smith wesson ASP 9mm for most of them.
then he has a walther p38k
a hk p7 ,
a browning 9mm
a hk vp70
an fn 1903
a ruger super black hawk
and a few others but i cant remember.. sorry my bond info is fading

read the books they are good,

What exactly do you mean .32 ammo is prohib?
 
Obtaining 32 ACP ammo is no problem although it is pricey for what you get. If you are feeding a Seecamp with Winchester silvertips (60grns) it is quite expensive. Even the 32 ACP surprised me by the perceived recoil in the PPK. Gunparts Corp had 380 longer threaded barrels for the conversion from 32 ACP. Beware however that the one I ordered was "short" and would not make the 105 cutoff. Exchange was OK but a hassle.

I can attest to RT's converted PP working perfectly, as I bought it from him :D

Function was flawless with various brands of commercial .380 ammo using four different factory .32 calibre mags.
 
ya sorry i meant the cal, is prohib. not the ammo, that someone with a restricted lic, couldnt get the gun and just have a longer barrel put on it. i dont have any experience with converting the 32 to 380 but i hear its one end or the other, ( really really good and functions well, or really really bad and dont work at all) good luck to any of those trying to aquire a ppk, i may make fun of your boner barrell, but i still the love the gun for its historical value, id be happy with a dewat to be honest.

btw , another really good movie with ppk's in it, and suppressors on them. is "where eagles dare" great mp40 shots too. its my all time fav movie and a must see for any gunnut, just thought id throw that out there.

and can RT ,Shelby please post pics of your converted ones , i want to see !
 
Walther PP & PPK's back in the day.........

I'm still looking for an original unaltered Walther PPK .32ACP [original German made not a French or Turkish knock-off].... Geez remember back in the day when the ex West German police PPK's came into Canada. In the box, with instructions, and a spare mag. All for around $125 Canadian. 'Course there was no such thing as 12(6) back then. If we only knew then, eh? :(

In the books, he started with the .25 Berreta and then M took it away at the start of Dr. No because the Berreta got caught on his pants in From Russia with Love causing him to get stabbed with a poison shoe tip knife.

The armourer gave him the Walther 7.65mm as a replacement. They also gave him a S&W hammerless .38 for when he needed more power and range. He used to use a long barrel .45 colt that was strapped to the underside of his car's dashboard when he needed more range. The gun was lost when he crashed the car in Moonraker and never mentioned again.

I LOVE the Bond books. :D
