Anybody have one?

I know S&W makes them in the 625 models, any others out there? I've had a case of wheel gun fever and would like to keep the cal. I'm reloading to a minimum. And pics and intelligent reviews would be apreciated very much,
thanks

629 is a .44Magnum. The model 625 is the only .45ACP revolver that is legal in Canada....maybe the model 22.

You are probably looking at the description at the bottom that lists different calibers. This description appears under all of the "N" frame models. Go to the side bar to "select caliber" and it will show you all of the models for a particular caliber.

If I had to get rid of all my handguns the 625 is the one I would keep.

Taurus Tracker Model 455 - 6" 5rd 45ACP revolver so it is legal in Canada and sometimes available new at different CGN sponsors. I bought mine from Epps over a year ago. Not as refined as a S&W but also didn't have the S&W price tag. Good shooter... accurate and FUN! :)

What is the Canadian price on the taurus, if you don't mind?

E.T.A. how effective is the port system, looks pretty good on youtube

I have a 625 - 5" model.

I have to say that up until I got the itch, I was rabidly anti revolver.

This thing is an absolute hoot!

I plan to shoot it in IDPA, and may just use it in IPSC too.
Recoil is very different, and really flat shooting. Not at all what I was expecting.
I got all the accessories from TK Custom - dubdubdub.moonclips.com
I'll post photos soon!

Several antique revolvers are 'rechambered' in .45ACP and are still legal antiques in Canada. Mk I and Mk II Webley coversions from .455 to .45ACP use the clips and I have an antique Colt SAA in .45ACP that dosn't use clips.

I was just like you. They looked odd and very uncomfortable to hold along with an "obvious issue" of being front heavy. Then I decided to try a Model 19 with a box of 38Spl for giggles. Halfway through my second cylinder worth I was in love.

The ink on my R-PAL is still wet but I've got two older S&W's wheel guns in the transfer process to me already.

that makes three of us, I was only interested in auto's before, But as I said, I've been bitten by the revolver fever.
Might have something to do with you tube speed shooting vids.

I was just looking at the S&W 625 on the WSS website and found something interesting.

Features: Frame: Large • Caliber: .45 ACP • Action: Single/Double • Capacity: 6 rds. • Barrel: 4" • Front/Rear Sights: Partridge/Adjsutable • Grip: Synthetic • O.A.L.: 10.38" • wt.; 45 oz. • Frame/Cylinder Material: Stainless Steel • Finish: Matte Stainless

Doesn't that make it a prohib?

Yes, but they also sell a 5" bbl version. As far as I know, they just copied S&W data from their (S&W's) website and reprinted. The 4" version is no longer legally imported to this (expletive deleted) country. I like the 3" version even more, very quick to present and easy to shoot in 45 ACP. FWIW - dan

I was thinking of using my 625 5 inch for IDPA but was told it was too long? I was thinking for revolver class of getting the 4 inch 610 in 10mm.

It's a typo I phoned them about it a year ago.

S&W wheelguns in .45ACP

I've had a S&W Model 25-2, Model of 1955, in .45ACP with the 6.5" pinned barrel. Very accurate & classy wheelgun.

Also, way back when I had a S&W 1917 that someone nickled. Good shooter but blinding in the sun...lol... [wonder what ever happened to that one...........]
