Backpacker pictures...

It a bait for ya. so you and CB can come and shake heads....

Actually the red-dot just touching the top of the gun, without a base.

Actually, that looks fricken GREAT!

one thing I noticed with the backpacker. (mine anyways) if you engauge the safty with the hammer down, it moves and goes "click". safty is on right? nope. it only moves 70% of the way with the hammer down, and will still fire when cocked. when the hammer is cocked the safty will move a bit further if pushed again.

the fact that it moves most of the way and goes click, but doesn't engauge the safty isn't very safe and is deceiving. it shouldn't move at all, or should fully engauge with hammer down, not half way.

I'm going nutz waiting for mine in the mail. I look at the picture on Canam at least twice a day and the ones here probably more!.... I've been bitten and its not even here yet.

How long does it take from when you order it until they ship it to you?

It will ship when they get to it....there is no set time right now as they are swamped with this latest shipment.

Be patient and start buying shells....:)

Very productive post.:slap: Sorry if you think I've hijacked your thread but I thought it was on topic.

Right, whatever, that's not what I asked. I asked how long it took from ordering until it shipped to you. Obviously you are one who has one and has this knowlelge but doesn't feel like sharing it. thanks again.:kickInTheNuts:

I think most realize they're busy, everyone is busy these days including me. I was hoping I could put up a quick post and get a feel from the field as to how long the wait is. This would save me having to email Canam, who as you say is "swamped" and allows the CGN community to help inform each other. But what do you care you already f**king have yours.:bigHug:

I ordered January 10th and recieved an email yesterday stating my "order has been completed". I assume that means that the CFC has approved and they have shipped me my Backpacker.

I did get the order "has been processed" email three days earlier.

MPI, I don't find your post off topic.
I simply stated that there is no set time for delivery....but I guess you already new that.

Thanks for the kick in the nuts !

How long have you been waiting champ?

I think mine was around 3 weeks give or take a few days but I ordered a 1911 more then 3 weeks ago and it has not gone through yet so I guess....
THERE IS NO SET TIME!:bangHead:

What I was hopping for was you telling us how long it took for you. Hopefully someone else will be more helpful. :)

Thanks OC-3, that's the info I was hoping for. cheers.:)

Anyone else's experience similar?

Hopefully you will get yours soon......How long have you been waiting?

Hey saw your updated post, thanks.:) I guess we both kicked each other in the nuts.;)

I've actually only put the order in 2 weeks ago but wasn't sure how long the wait was. It was an impulse buy that's holding strong.:D I'm hoping this shottie will be a great canoe tripping/backpacking aid and fun gun.:D

Other cal inserts for it would be a great addition if they ever happen.

Question: Broken down how long are the half's?

13" barrel and 18 1/4" for the receiver and butt stock.
I think it will make a great canoe/backpacking gun for you and as far as the inserts go the only guy I've seen making them is up in Alaska so imports might be difficult but I don't think they would be hard to make....

I think that a cross-bolt safety on a single shot hammer-cocked shottie is more dangerous that good. As a kid I had a few different gauges of single shots with cut down stocks. The principal of the hammer-trigger was nice and safe and simple. I plan to buy one of these too. But the first thing I will get done after I drive the pins out and take it apart is to have the safety removed and filled in.

I agree that the bolt safety is not needed but I don't think it is unsafe.

Are you worried about the safety being on when you need to shoot?

The safety will not move to safe until the hammer is cocked..so if you leave the hammer down and only #### it when you are ready to fire I can't see the safety getting accidentally engaged....
