Do the Dominion Arms short barrel doubles shoot to POA?

After looking at these two targets. for my intended use I might try #4 buck and fill in a few of those holes.

X2 Thats an awfully open group for 12 yds. The choke is said to be modified. Has anyone actually measured the constriction?
I agree but the right pattern does look slightly larger than the left. It would be interesting to put a barrel gauge into one of these things. Having patterned assorted buckshot at close ranges I am skeptical they are actually modified chokes.

And if that touchingly sweet little pink heart was the POA then the gun is shooting almost a full pattern high at 12 yards. No telling how high it would shoot at 25 or 40.

A full pattern high.... Maybe it is intended to be a Trap gun. :)

GEO,

Win 00 buckshot, 12 yard.

Black is from left barrel, green is from right barrel.

Cheers!

Thanks for getting out there michaelsabre. You are a man of your word!

Looks like you should aim for the belly on a B27! ;)

Ya...all high ends are like that, right? Don't believe me? Ask Claybuster!

Here is why:

They should do a bull barrel long range varmint version, that will eliminate the problem.

Not sure what your point is but guns used in ATA trap are often set up to shoot a higher pattern. This is because the target is always rising and provides both a built in lead and permits the shooter to keep his eyes on the target. Guns for skeet and sporting clays shoot flatter.

Secondly, while a discussion on the Churchill method of gun fitting and impact testing would no doubt be lost on you, it is typically not the barrel that causes a gun to shoot high but the stock. If your gun is shooting a foot high at 12 yards (and it appears to be) then the stock does not have enough drop, you have a very fat head or have no idea what you are doing.

or those that manufactured these things did really not know or care about the point of impact and marketed the form counting on those that bought them not being able to recognize poor function.

Claybuster, you are very nice when not fighting Norinco :D I will take your suggestion - not more Outlaw for clay games.

I may invest an O/U this year. Can't go better than 22~23, lots of frustration....

Firstly it does not look to be " a full pattern above point of aim" it looks more like 4 or 5 inches.

Also a 7 or 8 inch pattern at 12 yds isn't that bad, I mean I'm not blown away, but I've done worse with normal buckshot out of short Cylinder guns. I've also done better with Modified guns but they had longer barrels so that might have helped. It sure feels like
there is some constriction but maybe it's closer to IC or something like that. Low-recoil buckshot invariably improves patterns as well.

Also the stock is very long and feels quite fat on top so It's quite possible it's shooting high because of the afformentioned "Churchill" factors.

I think it's good to go as is for it's intended use. Close range gunfighting.

I had the outlaw at the range today. The front sight is much to low as the gun shoots high with everything. Slugs off the bags at 25yd shoots: right barell 21"high 8" right & 3"group, left 22" high 6" left & 3"group.At 15 yds 00 buck: R shoots 6-8" high & 4-5"r, L shoots same but to the left. BBs & #2 lead shoots the same as buck. Suprisingly 7 1/2 shot high but at 12 oclock. The gun does kick off the bench but is not too bad off hand. Hope this is informative to some AJ

Close range gunfighting? You mean the type of gunfighting where someone actually shoots back? I thought the outlaw was just a fun gun? For a real gunfighting gun, I would not settle for something that does not shoot to point of aim as demonstrated by this 12 yard pattern. High and left or high and right? Too much correction! Even my inner ninja would be confused.:D

At 25 yds. 21" high and 8" to the right . You could do much better with a slingshot.

What concerns me most is that the first line defense against the Zombie ninja cowboy invasion will probably be in the hands of those poor shooting Dominion Outlaws! That will leave us Fun police, Fudds, target shooters and gun snobs to clean up the mess.:D

Thanks for the report! Does the bead look like it is threaded on or is it brazed?
