I agree but the right pattern does look slightly larger than the left. It would be interesting to put a barrel gauge into one of these things. Having patterned assorted buckshot at close ranges I am skeptical they are actually modified chokes.X2 Thats an awfully open group for 12 yds. The choke is said to be modified. Has anyone actually measured the constriction?

And if that touchingly sweet little pink heart was the POA then the gun is shooting almost a full pattern high at 12 yards. No telling how high it would shoot at 25 or 40.

GEO,
Win 00 buckshot, 12 yard.
Black is from left barrel, green is from right barrel.
Cheers!
A full pattern high.... Maybe it is intended to be a Trap gun.![]()
Not sure what your point is but guns used in ATA trap are often set up to shoot a higher pattern. This is because the target is always rising and provides both a built in lead and permits the shooter to keep his eyes on the target. Guns for skeet and sporting clays shoot flatter.Ya...all high ends are like that, right? Don't believe me? Ask Claybuster!
They should do a bull barrel long range varmint version, that will eliminate the problem.
Secondly, while a discussion on the Churchill method of gun fitting and impact testing would no doubt be lost on you, it is typically not the barrel that causes a gun to shoot high but the stock. If your gun is shooting a foot high at 12 yards (and it appears to be) then the stock does not have enough drop, you have a very fat head or have no idea what you are doing.
I may invest an O/U this year. Can't go better than 22~23, lots of frustration....
Or you could wait for Dominion Arms to do a knock off of the Stoeger Gauchia, o/u sporting gun.
I think it's good to go as is for it's intended use. Close range gunfighting.
I had the outlaw at the range today. The front sight is much to low as the gun shoots high with everything. Slugs off the bags at 25yd shoots: right barell 21"high 8" right & 3"group, left 22" high 6" left & 3"group.At 15 yds 00 buck: R shoots 6-8" high & 4-5"r, L shoots same but to the left. BBs & #2 lead shoots the same as buck. Suprisingly 7 1/2 shot high but at 12 oclock. The gun does kick off the bench but is not too bad off hand. Hope this is informative to some AJ
We should name it "Claybuster" shotgun.
Actually it's the other way round.I am sure that CB will feel honoured! He already has a fairly good knock off reloading component named after him![]()
