FN Model 8 in .35 Remington

Is it a bolt action, autoloader?? More info and photos would help.
I've only seen one of those things in my lifetime I thought it was a mod 8 Remington.
the guy who showed it to me was something of a dealer collector. So you might have a bit of value there?? to the right guy of course.

Are you sure about the serial number?
There were less than 5000 of these guns built, so I'd be surprised to see a 5 digit serial - in fact, very interestingly, it seems most examples I have heard of in NA (which there aren't all that many) have a serial number starting with a 4 and then ### including the one above

Jonathan Browning's first auto loader, was oferred to FN and then Remington obtained the rights. The FN model is highly sought after by Remington collectors. In good excellent/very good condition they are often 1500$ us!!! Remingtons were offered in the Model 8/8a, and the 81. JITC
There's a couple forums going dedicated specific to that rifle and the Remington 8.

The pic was in Martin's photo album. Of course that is him in the middle, and John on the right. No one knows who the feller on the left is. Wish I had known this stuff was hiding around up at home 15 years ago so I could've talked to a bunch more folk who have since passed. This pic is from the 20's I would say, from his trapping cabin across from the rock cut.
What was Walt's site addy? We posted quite a bit of stuff there too.

mcjp, the first site crashed and all the data was lost. The creator was slow to get another up and going so Walt put this one up. Good crew of guys here. The one Canuck posted has just been started up by the original creator. Not sure if Walt will shut his down now or notm that was the plan........

Top gun is a #8 in 25Rem,model 81 in 300 sav and the FN on bottom,I have seen probably 15 or so at gun shows especially in Ontario,and n/eastern states but this is only one with clip.
Another unique feature on this gun is the "inletted" and soldered side scope mounts. Marked "Germany",nothing else. Bad flash on clip and reciever in pic.
Gun has been well used as checkering is well worn,chip missing from back of forearm. Scrolled FN buttplate.
Browning sold U.S. rights to Remington and FN made guns for Europe.Total FN production numbers range from 4300 to slightly over 4900 total. This one is mid 3800.
Most of the one's I've seen have been in real rough shape,happy to have this one,but always looking...
