Sig mosquito vs CZ kadet

The slide is anodized rather than being painted or using some other soft finish. Being anodized the surface is much harder than just plain aluminium. But I have to admit I don't know how it'll wear long term either. I'm up to 1000 rounds through it now. I'll let you know how it's going in another 9K..... :D

In my situation, the little slide is not a problem because when I shoot at the range:
I put a mag in the pistol, rack the slide one time, shoot and then the slide stay open after the last round.

Then, I put an other mag in, I release the slide and I'm ok for an other mag

last round slide stay open and etc...

If I don't have problem when shooting, I don't rack the slide very often :)

just my opinion ;)

Ruel, if your practicing failure clearance drills you'll be racking the slide in a hurry. Otherwise, I understand and I don't typically rack the slide on anything that much, but in defense shooting training (which I'm no expert on, trust me), you're told not to trust the slide release but to rack the slide back from the slide stop in order to assure 100% getting that round in the chamber.

BCRider: Honestly, was I wrong? Does the slide lock back on the last round on the tanfoglio. I thought it didn't, but if it does then I regret not getting that pistol. That was really my only problem with it.

yeah, I think you're right for this, but in my situation I don't do defense shooting training then the Kadet is fine for me LOL !:p

but I understand what you say ;)

But you may have to if you shoot that, LOL , as opposed to to this :):

Hypothetically speaking, if you were a LEO and had to pull your "duty" pistol on a group of bad guys, which of these two do you think would be more effective in a strictly "defensive" shooting situation--taking in to consideration that the Sig Mosquito is also 90% of the size of a "normal" duty pistol? Your call... LOL, you couldn't even effectively pistol-whip the bad guys with the lightweight polymer frame of the pink Mosquito when they fall on the ground laughing! :nest:

Yeah, I've never even seen a pink one but the weight is actually 2 oz more than the glock 17, which is the current staple of law enforcement. As for the size, being 90% of a 226, a full size pistol, it falls in a category between compact and full size (barrel of about 4 inches). Sure it feels like a toy, but a glock kinda feels like a toy to me.

Yeah, that's right. I'll defend this pink toy to the bitter end! ;)

Right on! That's the spirit! You mean they're not all pink? ;)

One quick question: are the grips on the Mosquito able to be changed, or are the grips and grip-screws just molded into the plastic receiver for appearance sake? I didn't pay attention to this detail when I shot the Mosquito.

By removing the two screws on each side, you can take the side straps on the grips right off to give you a limited access to the inner working. In theory, they could be replaced with thicker ones, if such an after-market product exists, but I wouldn't see the point as I find the grip size on the mosquito to be a little on the large size compared to upper frame and slide. It's mostly the grip's length which is slightly on the small side, my pinky just barely managing to squeeze onto the grip and not hang out into the air (as it does with a rediculously small grip like, say, a Walther P-22.

CZ Kadet

I got a Kadet Saturday and shot it Sunday, all I can say is WOW. It is a great pistol. I put about 100 rds of Fed 510s thru it off a rest at 25yds and it kept 1 1/2 " and under groups. With my 58 yr old eyes I think that is pretty good. The rack is hard to grip but otherwise it's great. Here's pic's:
