+1 for 204 Ruger, I love mine.

I have two 17hmr's. One is for the GF or her son, if either of them tag along.
Fantastic gopher round, set up with a bipod it's pretty well a gimmee out to 125 yds, beyond that it gives them a bit of a sporting chance.

If they both want to go, I bring along the .22-250 for me :dancingbanana:
But that's just for the looooong ones. 50 gr v-max = spectactular gopherobics.

If I ever take the plunge into reloading, my next rifle will be a .204

Thats the first time I seen anyone with that red splash anno on there Leupolds...doesnt look too bad! What are the specs on the scope?

Gun is a Tikka T3 Super Varmint
Leupold VX-L 6.5-20x56mm Long Range Extreme Varminter, perfect match for the 204 Ruger

It has a cool reticle:

You could say its a varmint rifle, as both the gun and the scope have it in the name :D

Many a gopher met its end last season with this puppy.

Definitely a slick set up TKV . The reticles fairly accurate with the load your using?

Now THAT my friends is a varmint rig extraordinaire! WOW!

I am not so much jealous as I am just impressed. Way to go!

I purchased this scope because the wires in the crosshairs are very thin. Good for gophers. The gun is super accurate, I've got a perfect load dialed in for it, .6 of an inch @100, and 500 empty cases to load for this season. Unlike the picture by Leupold, because the 204 shoots so flat I use the middle crosshair for out to 300 yards, then the 300 yard for 400, ect.

The manual for the scope had dial in settings for 204, 223, 17 Fireball, ect ect.

Definitely a rig to be proud of TKV :pirate:. I'm gonna have to look into the varmint reticle .

I just ordered my third (and hopefully my last) 223rem from Prophet river. It's supposed to arrive in March, this will be the longest month. It's a CZ527 M1 synthetic, and I ordered a Leupold 3-9X33 compact scope at the same time. I have owned 2 Remingtons previously, 1 700, and a model 7, but I'm a bit picky, and I think that the Remington actions are just too big for that little cartridge. I've already spent $400.00 on reloading components, so you can imagine how much shooting I plan to do through it this year.

I have a Savage 12LPV on the way in .223 and I'm going to try the 50gr and 55gr V-Max bullets in it's 1-9 twist barrel with some BenchMark powder behind them. I hope to turn it into a 20 VarTarg next year.
