I shoot what I see,..and what seems to be good for the area...
Does, fawns, bucks, calves, ... if I can legally shoot it and use it, I will...
I get a kick out of some of the shows... especially the ones where "every" shot was a good one yet they cut away from the animal being hit and it's edited til about 20 minutes later when they are beside the dead animal.
I get a bigger kick out of the guys who have 20 or 30 pictures of all the bucks using their planted field, get in their blind and wait for "george" or "ruffy" the buck to come out.
Reminds of me ordering toys out of the xmas catalogue.
I rarely see hunting that reflects the hunting that many of us do.
No one ever gets their feet wet, or breaks out a few sandwiches, ...
no one ever falls arse over kettle,... no one ever drops their bullets or stops for a leak, no one ever blows their nose or scratches their ass,...
On the Newfoundland Sportsman show I find it's real...
I see the guys laughing and joking, out ofbreath trying to keep up with their bird dogs, taking spiker moose, missing rabbits, stuck on their quad or in their truck,...
one of Dad's friends did a bird hunt for one of their shows, ... they didn't get one bird all day, and actually submitted it,.. I saw it, and it was an enjoyable show.
Very much the same as many enjoyable hunts, have seen me leave empty handed..
