Well, I have been there twice. And yes there is a very sharp "S" curve just before the church.

Technically, it is 2150 BARB ROAD, East Hawkesbury, Postal Code starts with K0B

Coordinates to the driveway of the gun club are (these were taken from my Garmin GPS while I was sitting in the driveway:
N 45°30.672'
W074°30.905'

A little over 2 weeks to go.. Lets get organized!!!

Do we have an update for what tools and supplies to bring?

As the title says there's a little over 2 weeks to go before the clinic, its time we get organized.

Let's try to see what we're missing as far as tools go.... Worst case scenario, we could always chip $$ in as a group and rent whatever we're missing.

Got word from Hungry "Looks like we won't have a large enough vise and bench to do any re-barreling or re-indexing". Does anyone have one they could bring?

Do we have a welder?

I can bring a drill press if needed?

Was anyone planning on doing some Parkerizing?

Lets get this thread going?!?!? ...

If you are comming from the east (Montreal) along the 417, then take the first Ontario exit (not the rest stop!) for "Prescott-Russell, St-Eugene, and go south (St-Eugene) along the 14 to the stop. Turn right onto Barb/Labrosse, and drive 2-3 minutes 'till you see the red barn on the left. It's 2150.

This is 6 Km shorter each way (12Km total) than taking the Vankleek Hill exit. It's a no-brainer. From the exit it is one left turn, then one right turn, then a left into the driveway.

In the satelite photo, the range is the south-most building with the grey roof. The north-most barn has red sides which you don't see in the photo.

unfortunatly i don't have a vise big enough or a welder, what i can offer is a ride to anyone who needs one from MTL and i have a pickup if someone needs to carry something like a press drill, welder or wtv needs to be carried

anyone knows were a can buy a good set of punches around montreal? i don't have any and theyre always useful anyways

I would if I knew how to do it. Here's my beef... without asking Mr Jean C. Garand himself, I don't even know how to go about doing this, and if I did, I don't even have the technical background to steer people properly, safely or otherwise.

This is out of my technical expertise and I'm worried about all kinds of people interpreting potential misunderstandings into (yer #### will fall off) perceived kabooms!

So would people rather me spread the wrong information? I'm not there.....

JUst the fact that you haven't felt the need to learn how to do this is reassuring. Thanks!

Hey ya'll, I'm new to this site and live in VKH and just found out about this here M14 clinic, please sign me up and I'll see you at the club with M14 and Garand in tow!! Avrow/Brian #93

Id pay for half the gaz . Im 30yo in case u want to know if well get along in the 4hrs drive . I have a car but i have a hockey game the night before and will be very tired in the morning . thank you !!

AW s**t.... Can't make it Barney..... Living on a farm has its advantages...... the main disadvantage is that there is ALWAYS WORK TO BE DONE..........

Now, since it's ''le temps des sucres'' (maple sugaring season) we'll be boiling maple sap all weekend long........

maybe we'll have a clinic in MTL in '09.....

Simon

Hungry here: Too bad we cannot connect this time and finally meet after all these years. It's all gonna work out. Besides, I'm back again next year, same battime, same batchannel.

Guys: I am taking my van from Kanata and have room for one or more passengers that would like to chip-in for gas. I will be leaving Kanata at about 7:15am heading for home right after over (not sticking around for evening). PM or email if you would like a ride.

I need to take off the welded on flash hider. Anyone going to bring a bench grinder or other suitable tools to 'pursuade' it off?

I'll be attempting to install a Dlask muzzle break, a Bits Of Pieces metric gas block front sight mount, and an Italian ebay Garand rear sight.

John@:

Let's do the Italian Ebay Garand sight at the clinic. That's a nice fun job to do. Regarding the persuasion of the Flash hider, that's another story. They can be a hit, miss, or Fzck It! (read: chop) proposition. Dunno if we have the big enough vise to beat away at it. We'll yak about that on Sat AM. Quite a few CGNutters discovered that their flash hiders were REALLY well tacked on. Some others found out that there was no welding done (read: Monday or Friday rifles, in that high school shop class).

Let's see what happens. Packing all my tools right now for the trip to Ottawa. We are gonna have a shztload of fun.
