Canada Ammo or Marstar?

Thinking about purchasing a pistol, both dealers (Canada Ammo & Marstar) have the one I am currently interested in.

Canada Ammo is slightly cheaper and offer free shipping but I'm reading some mixed reviews on their service.

My question is, besides the CFO hoops which one of these dealers would I have a better experience with? I assume since both are larger dealers it would be fairly similar but I still would like to hear some input from fellow CGN members.

Thanx

From personal experience in buying from the two mantioned dealers. I said that Marstar offer the best service. Can Am will maybe, one day, find my repeated e-mails where i asked them if they got new P226 in stock. I understand them, it's just a 1000$ gun so why bother. Too late i bought it somewhere else.

Ahahah yes, unfortunatly, they are kind of lost. Ordered a Grlizzly shotgun from them, sent my first payment and never heard of them again. 3 months later, no shotgun and on their website, it shows it's in B/O. Great! So I requested to have a refund by fax, waited 2 weeks, sent another fax and I finally got my money back. I don't want to be rude or anything, but my first experience with them sucked.

Bought from Marstar and bought from Canada Ammo. I'd buy from both again, but Canada Ammo generally works out to be cheaper. All the complains from Canada Ammo had been from stuff that had to be back ordered. If he has the item in stock, you'll get it in a timely manner. The only issue I had with Marstar is that the shipping was $18 more than quoted. I didn't complain, but I should have.

Have bought from both. Have had excellent service from both.
Everyone has a different story.

Snap into a slim-jim.

Eeeeehhhh... not to be an a$$, but your statement is not true. I paid and have been waiting for over a month now, for a gun that is supposed to be in stock. In fact, I even received by mail the ATT that allows me to pick-up/receive my gun, but still no signs of the gun anywhere. And my repeated e-mails asking for an update on my order probably fell through the same cracks FAQMAT's e-mails did.

CanadaAmmo has a couple of other guns I'm interested in, but until this thing gets resolved, I'm ordering the next one from Marstar. I'll probably place my order next Monday; we'll see which one gets here first.

Canadaammos service sucks! i've been waiting 40 days for my Dominion. I canceled my two-tone .45 months ago because of the ridiculous wait, should have learned my lesson. Figured buying non restricted listed in stock would be no hassle-Wrong! I finally got told after sending 3 emails that they are over a month behind and i still have a few more weeks to wait before i can get my gun. Marstar does cost more but they have never jerked me around. Some people are not fans of Marstar but they are the better of the two in my experience. What really sucks is that i want the 8.5" mag fed so i'll probably just be back in this boat!

Until Canada Ammo has a store front. FAT CHANCE.

Phone never answered. Email never answered.

I'm LOCAL and still SOL on anything with them, that is pretty bad.

I recently bought pistols from both. CanAmmo was a month wait. Not bad for a $99 deal that swamped them.

Marstar was faster, but did not send the magazine and pistol brass i ordered. I don't think i was charged for it.

If i was buying tomorrow, I would opt for Marstar because CanAm appears to be swamped.

I have not purchased from Marstar, but did deal with CanadaAmmo. Nothing but good things to say about CanadaAmmo. Answered emails in a timely fashion and shipped when they said they were going to. I realize others may have had troubles, but I have not.

Since you are in BC you might think Can Ammo would be faster . But I doubt it
with all the negative posts about there service lately . Also if you order from Marstar you will not have to pay PST . Nether of these dealers have a very good record of returning e-mails . I have ordered from both with no problems in the past . But I wont deal with Can Ammo any time soon thanks to all the negative comments

Nice to see how CanAm is held responsible because buyers.......... ah who cares, so don't buy from CanAm, although he has gone out of his way to get cool stuff at an excellent price, but hey, everybody wants to have their hand held, guess what that costs money. I work in the service/sales support business and you don't know how much I get pissed at people when they tell me "I sent an e-mail an hour ago, didn't you see it...", I swear technology has some serious downsides, between cellphone, PDA, e-mail, voice-mail it's a freeken pain in the ass. Let CanAm do their freeken job, appreciate the commitment they have for the products to offer and be patient. I swear people have no freeken clue about the crap these dealers have to put up to get this stuff.

Buy from whoever floats your boat, I bought from both, had delays with both, communication delays with both and got great products from both. I will do business again with both. Just so nobody feels left out, I have had issues with our other great dealers too, and have always had good closure. All our dealers are great and I am thankful they do what they do. Rant over.

i didnt mind waitin on can am, in fact i expected to. but when my order has been processed for a month, i just got told that it was in CFC hands now. called them up and they said no transfer has been initiated by them. called canada ammo up again, apparently my order is in a stack of about 60 transfers. if ya take my money, i expect something to happen and not ohh when we get to it.

Had negative experience with Marstar, no communication at all, get different people on the phone with different answers and got my staff 2.5 month later (promised 2 weeks max) when I already forget about it (thanks for a surprise) ..and it was not even a firearm.
Canam has better communication in my case (believed or not) even half of my emails went unanswered. Will give a second chance to CanAm instead or Marstar if need it.
