Anyone attempted tactical breaching? I know there are special purpose breaching rounds out there.... Are they available to the public? Any canadian sources for mag tube type standoffs? Tips? Thanks in advance.

Tactical Ordinance has them. Plus Casey (gunsmith) is super respected by everyone. Located in Newmarket ON.

I though about adding one myself, but changed my mind as there are plenty of people who breach without them, plus I didn't want the weight and bulk. (Have to draw the line somewhere.

BadBoyBeeson has a couple options for sale at s&jhardware.com
He's done a lot of product testing as well and can steer you in the right direction.

Hahaha, some of you guys kill me. Thanks for the laugh:)

If that was directed to me, I meant to offer some info/references - Not to come along. But I wouldn't be randomly giving breaching info to someone online though... So that is why I asked if Mil or LE.

he's probably just a fud,

Military units use shotguns for breaching training as well as police etc.

Hahaha, I am definitely not a fud. I also don't use words like "tacticool", nor do I take more "glamour shots" of my guns than actually shoot them. If you are military or police, keep on breaching, I am sure its a valuable and useful skill.

If you are a civilian, you are the reason for my initial comment.

If you like to play dress-up or make believe, have at it, but I will still have a laugh. Save the SWAT or SORT tactics for the professionals. Cheers,

Patrick

I'm not LE or Mil but having built up a tactical 870 and reading up on breaching I thought I may try it on some old doors at the farm someday.... Reality being its not a skill I plan on ever needing..... But neither is IPSIC or western re-enactments either. Oh well....

Well said, I am just bitter in Toronto. Certainly would be lots of fun to blow the sh*t out of old doors. Give em hell!

You should be more reserved with your comments.
There are many military personnel on this site, myself included. My unit trains with 870's. Be careful who you call mall ninja here.
There are many non-military as well. They enjoy having a good time/hobby with their firearms. Who are you to decide what is acceptable training for others. You probably vote liberal eh?
Further to that, the day only military/LE train with firearms is a bleak one. Think dictatorship.

Relax, take a deep breath. Re-hang some doors or something,

Fudd. :D

Why do you care what other people practice? Is it wrong to want to take down a door?

a fudd (Elmer Fudd) is a guy who thinks firearms are only good for hunting and generally dislikes guys who own handguns and black rifles or tactical firearms training.

A mall ninja is the opposite extreme, someone who buys all the coolest tactical stuff and has absolutely no idea how to use it or realistic use for the gear.

A mall ninja is like the civi version of a military kit slut.

and then there are all the people in the middle who just like guns, some to collect, some to hobby shoot, some to protect their families and some who train for work ie. military and LE. These guys generally get along and have civil productive conversations without ridiculing others like phinton81 did in this thread.
