This might seem like a noob question, but is the 1911 .45 Commander restricted or prohibited?
From what I can tell, they come in either 4" or 4.25" barrel, full sized grip frame, 7 or 8 rd. magazine. Kimber calls this size "Pro", Springfield calls this size "Champion", others often call this size "custom", "compact", or "carry".
I'm guessing the 4" are prohib and the 4.25 are restricted, of course. Is there any rhyme or reason to the size difference with manufacturers?
