Colt M4??

the fit and finish looks preatty good, I was wondering if they are gonna use the internals from the walther p22? since they come from the same manufacture. I just picked up a new 1750 pelican case in anticipation !!
 
So what are they?

So without going through all 29-odd pages of this post, what's the concensus on legality?
Regardless of current status, are we not looking at a possible variant (i.e. look alike, whatever..) where it will be ultimately restricted; or is there a real possibility they're going to remain the same as any other non-restricted?

Ya I know, everything and anything can change at any time.

I'm going out on a limb here, but looking at the outside closeups it does look like it <should> pass muster as non-restricted. Notice the pin where the "auto sear" would be on a real AR. I'd hazard a guess that this thing is sear, rather than hammer fired. So what I see here is something that is likely to have a short "bolt" that doesn't require a buffer and tube, and a sping loaded firing pin, and thus would have a different trigger mechanism than a "real" AR, as such, that would make it a completely different design internally, hence non-restricted.
