ar's in quebec need help

Hi guys , as you saw in my previous post and reading this thread , I realize that we are quite a few law abiding canadian citizen , living in this province , being subjected to a form a harrassment , disguised as satefy issues .

What can we do to bring these issues to the attention of federal government ? I don't agree or believe in the way my province is going about implementing these "safety precautions " . I already own quite a few pistols and quite a few restricted rifle , why should buying one more change anything ?

The issue I am having with this safety precaution , is the very unreasonable delay , how can you buy something and wait over 3 , 4 , 5 or even 6 months to get a permit to bring it from store to your house . Because in all honesty , when you buy the firearm at the store , they iniate the transfer right away , so the last step of the transaction is for the province to issue transport permit from store to residence , as we all posess a permit to go from residence to range ... this is ludicrous and quite stupid , the extra delay will not save any lives or protect anyone , it will only irritate and piss off the regular people that own firearms , and yes I am aware that the goal is to discourage gun ownership , but the way they go about it is illegal in my opinion !

Rant mode off , need ideas as to how to bring this to the attention of people who can regulate and help us in the very delicate situation . I tried writing to my umbodsman , as suggested in this thread , and if I did not provide all my personal detail , no action would be taken . Problem is I don't want to leave all my details , as I am afraid I will be exposed to reprisals by the Surete du Quebec , adding more delays and who knows what , more unpleasant things for me ....

Nice Police state (Province) you live in .

If we actually had the conservative federal government we elected then these laws wouldn't stand because the Feds would tell the province to get its nose out of a federal jurisdiction. If bill 301 wasn't a complete failure we wouldn't have ATT's for the province to play around with anymore.

Its too bad that we have spineless leeches for politicians regardless of party.

Ok, so following my e-mail, the SQ called me saying that they were still in the process for the transfer. She say she cannot do anything since for every restricted semi auto rifle, there is verification do by a third party so basicly, I have to wait...

All this BS since the ''Dawson incident''

a third party? Who would that be? is it even legal for the government to share our personal information like that?

Still waiting ...

Hi all !

I just wanted to let you guys know I am still waiting , since december 12th 2008 , for the transfer permit concerning my AR stripped lower , issued by my provincial police force , to be completed . This is more then ridiculous , but also , I belive , illegal .

I own already , quite a few restricted pistols and rifles , so I cannot possibly understand , what's taking so long . They invoke the new anastasia law in quebec , but where in this new law , does it mention new measures concerning restricted rifles ?

Honestly , I think its time we bring this to the attention of authorities and would like to have some help concerning this . We got a great number of people on these forums with knowledge and ressources that can help , now is the time to step in and help gun owners in quebec , concerning this abuse of authority by Surete du Quebec , provincial police .

Lets see who will post constructive posts and who will simply write the usual " it sucks to be you guys " ... type of posts !

Why not have a buddy in a GUN FRIENDLY province buy the AR15, then "lend" you the gun... Assuming you have your Restricted class firearms licence, this is allowed... THEN you start the paperwork to transfer it to yourself...

NO WAITING!!! And, you have to admit, there simply is nothing like GIVING it to the man... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is completely allowed and above the board!!!

Cheers
Jay

I do this all the time. Works great. :)

...unless the same CFO who doesn't want to process your transfer in a reasonable amount of time also doesn't want to process your ATT, in which case all you've achieved is having another safe queen that you can't do anything with except have stolen from you.
