What animal eats Porcupine ?

I've read porky's are good eats too. I'd be up for trying it! :D

while we're talking small game (can you even hunt porcupine?), I read once (about 5 years ago) on the boat tour of the 1000 islands in Ontario, rack of raccoon. bloody expensive, but dang I'd like to try that! boggles my mind that there is a game farming for raccoon tho, LOL!

To urban hunter, next meal is scampering by
Detroit - When selecting the best raccoon carcass for the special holiday roast, both the connoisseur and the curious should remember this simple guideline: Look for the paw.

"The paw is old school," says Glemie Dean Beasley, a Detroit raccoon hunter and meat salesman. "It lets the customers know it's not a cat or dog."

i shot one way back when christ was still alive....i tried to skin it..i neaver knew what the trick was to do it..
and to this day ive yet to try it again.........
in fact i still dont know the trick to do it:eek:

but i still hear they good eating:confused:

so who eats porky,s? what do they taste like:confused:

I have had pet porcupines and they are actually good pets except when they want attention. Porcupine quills lose their sharpness and stickiness after they have been pulled out, it takes a few hours. A porcupine that has been dead for a little while can be touched without the quills sticking. So really anything can eat them once they are dead.

I saw a show called Fat men can't hunt, and they were eating African porcupines. The general consensus was that they are decent eating.

How would you skin them? I see them all the time, but never thought of shooting them. Can't find them in the reg either for Ont, I guess I'm out of luck for them.

You skin from the belly tail to chin. Open slowly. only the small younger ones are good eating. You know when they have bean in evergreens. They taste like spruce needles. I had a biology prof. pick one up & carry it by the underside of the tail. He won the bet.
