I've been having some problems with my butler creek carbon fiber barrel recently. i've tried everything to correct it. I got a new stock i bedded the receiver and pillar bedded the action screw. free floated the barrel and barrel v-block.
it used to shoot great(1/2" at 50yards with dynapoint) well it still does if you only shoot a couple rounds from a cold barrel. now i think it's contracted the famous "shoots like garbage when the barrel warms up" Today at the range i could get the first 5 shots into one raged hole then i proceeded to put about 50rounds through it and the groupings got up around 1.5-2"
anyone have any suggestions, other than replacing the barrel?
could my barrel bolts be too tight/loose?
should i try "clamping" the barrel in place so it can't shift POI?
should i just bed the v-block and the first 3" of the barrel?
