G19 worth the 30% more then a G17?

I've shot and owned both and from my experience, the G19 seems more accurate. But that could be because of the lonewolf barrel and the smaller frame fits my hands better. Never really got the chance to shoot a G17 with a lonewolf barrel to truly compare. If you bought a lonewolf barrel for the G17 then you're only $150 in difference. The answer for me is, yes it's worth the extra money.

Meh. They're worth the same in the USA, but to get them over here is a bit of trouble. The dealer has to have someone purchase them in the USA, refit them with aftermarket barrels that meet Canadian length requirements, then import them over here.

That being said I'll take the G19 any day. :p

I'm not 100% on this but I think that G19s are inherently more accurate. Back in the US I fired quite a bit of each and the G19 always outshot the G17. Neither of these were ever modified in any way, they were stock.

Who, What, When, Where, Why?

Carrying? I would buy a 19. And some Kramer Leather.

If I was just shooting at the range, and joe average CDN guy. Just buy the 17.

I would NOT but the 19 with the extended barrel, as I would purchase that model for its size and concealabilty. The extended barrel removes that advantage IMHO and the cool factor is not worth the 300 bucks.

If you can only afford one, and travel to the US often. You might want to switch barrels and have a 19 to carry. I just keep one down south. Easier.

Big guy? You might be able to carry the 17 same as a 19...

So it alllllll depends.

The Glock 19 is one of the best concealed pistols ever. The long barrel Canadian version makes no sense. Save the money.

C'mon the barrel you can barley notice after a few trips to the range. The black oxidized version looked fantastic on my Gen 2 Glock 19.

I miss that gun.

I shoot the 19 more accuratley than a 17 and it fits my hand way better.

i hate the extended barrel but i too shoot better with the 19 . I dont regret my purchase at all . It the gun ive kept the longest !!

I doubt the little bit of barrel protrusion affects concealability since it's tucked into your pants. It's the butt you have to hide!
Having said that, if I didn't have my 12(6), I would go for the stick-out barrel G19.

I'm thinking a G19 with a mock silencer on a threaded barrel is infinitely cooler. :D

Now, I will say that I held only airsoft versions :)eek:), and the G19, which I did own at one point, was SUPREMELY more comfortable to hold in my smallish hands.

That little protrusion wont let it fit in a stock Kramer scabbard or IWB I'm thinking... Your holster is part of your system... ;)

The only reason I don't own a G19 is the aftermarket barrel.

 It makes sense because that is the only G19 that can be had in this country. Oh sure... there are a handfull of 15 year old + beater Gen 1 GLOCK 19's out there for the 12(6) guys but, barring a revolution, 102mm barrel (4 inch) handguns like the G19 will never again be allowed into this country in their original configuration. That is all the reason anyone needs to buy one.

The talk about carrying and concealability is a bit tiresome. In this country, carry your GLOCK 17 or 19, concealled or otherwise, and your days of owning firearms are over anyway.

Yes it worth it - the barrel is only a smidge longer than factory one. Unlike the G26/27 lieberal mandate contraptions :(

Exactly. The difference between the stock barrel and the Canadian market barrel is about 3.5 to 4mm, depending on the barrel maker. Millimetres folks. The barrel sticks out on all GLOCKS. The Canadian 19's have a few more millimetres.

GLOCK 17's are so boring. No newbie is complete without one. I had one for awhile years ago. I didn't like it much. The balance doesn't agree with me at all. It's brutally front heavy in my view.

GLOCK 19's are nice. Don't own one, but I've shot them lots. Several of the regulars at my range have them. Balance, grip, controlability in rapid fire - G19's just seem to work a lot better for me. Seems like a lot of people agree.

This debate is so tired. If all you have is $700 or whatever - you aren't going to be doing much shooting anyway, so yah, go ahead and buy a G17 and shoot it a few times. If you have the money, and you want a G19 - buy one.

A couple videos. This is a gun that originates from Questar. Good product.
