If I was shooting a 45-70 regularly, I'd be loading cast bullets for cheap...The last box of 100 .338 Interlocks I bought was only $25.;)

when was the last time you were at le store theve had huge price increase i bought at lebaron today only stuff was 150 gr for 15.99 on sale ther no discount card, i bought last year 10 boxes of 375 win for 24 bucks and today was 41 and change you better check the prices now its changed and getting hard to get ammo,i buy usually 170 gr silver tips or power points not the 150 grain stuff .

3030 for $29????

The local Wally mart and CT still have it for about 15 here (central Ont).

Do some shopping bud, it still cheap other places.

EDIT - Just checked SIRs sight.....3030 Rem or Win ammo is still listed as $16.99

Haven't bought any recently but was surfing the different sites, and even in US bucks its a lot more expensive.

Reloading Reloading Reloading, maybe you dont save that much, But, I think it is the best way to go.

X2. If you think it's high prices now, just wait. Tough times even for reloaders for workups! I'm thinking accuracy standards for a lot of reloaders are about to become a bit more generous, me included. Prices are going to do nothing but get worse, even here in the land of black gold.
Heard the other day that according to a CEO of one of the biggest oil and gas producers in Canada that all the towns west of Edmonchuk are going to be ghost towns in short order. Apparently even CEO's can't convert to Cdn dollars what $52 US oil really means - about $65 Cdn, a price that they all rejoiced at not that many months ago. The same old gouging has been applied as of today - the AB gov't, after pissing away a potential windfall in cash the last few years, has determined that the quickest way to beat down a 4.75 BILLION dollar budget deficit is to tax more. I picked up a standard bottle of good old rye whiskey today, and the small-town scrooge getting wind of the increased taxes on hooch had already jacked up the prices about 20%. So much like the price of retail fuels it, makes you sick. Existing inventory jacked up - think it's called profiteering and it's illegal.
But I digress, as per the norm. Fact is, nothing will get cheaper no matter what with the possible exception of them instituting a complete devaluation of the dollar like the Mexicans did.
Stock up - it's only going to get worse.....hint: wait til you see your next property tax bill here in sunny AB - a conservative bet is around a 20% hike.:mad::mad:

I just noticed the other day that our Walmart has 30/30 win for around $18 for both the 150gr and 170gr.

Other caliber prices seem to by rising though...probably on restocking the price gets the adjustment.

You guys can keep complaining, or you could provide me with cash upfront and wait a year (or maybe even longer sadly) for your product to arrive.
I'm going to attempt to do presales of ammunition, selling ammunition in bulk quantities. It's going to require a lot of patience on the consumer end though.

All of us shooters are feeling the crunch on ammo prices, this is my solution to the problem.

i think inflation has hit the ammo market from what i hear on this site , unfortunately i am stuck with paying what the dealers are asking cause i was never around when the price was cheap for high powered ammunition or rim fire stuff for that matter.... so i started reloading and stocking up on supply's

Odd too as the price of brass and lead is tanked. Brass was paying out at almost $2 a pound and lead at $0.80 per pound last year. FYI brass is paying out at $0.60/lb and lead is $0.20/lb and not likely to go up for some time so what gives??? I do the recycling for a large range and follow the prices carefully.

I live in a border town. We used to be able to go "across the river" and buy ammunition, reloading supplies etc. I have been talking with a few in the industry, on both sides of the border and have been told alot of the problems are stemming from Obama's threat to make guns useless by depriving them of ammunition. Considering most of our ammo comes from the Excited States, it only makes sense that ammunition is getting scarcer here. I spoke with one fellow who said that his suppliers are given a sheet of what they can sell on any given day. Not bulk, individual boxes of ammo. Apparently primers are next to impossible to get. He stated that people are hoarding ammunition on an unprecedented scale, especially military calibres.
Locally, ammunition prices have risen approximately 20%. Methinks it's only going to get worse.
