1022 Tommy Gun Kit

Love the drum, Fun Gun! I would take one of those today! I know it's just a dummy attachment but I am planning on doing another PPSh project someday and it would look gooooood.

Thanx, guys!
Neat idea on the PPSH use...I made these for the Tommy Kits but both stick and drum extensions seem to have lots of other uses for many different guns based on other forum comments.
Who would have guessed?
Yup, these will go into production ASAP.
:D

April update: still waiting for export approval.
New stuff coming soon, should be ready when the export approval comes in:

Just had a thought.

Can you throw up a picture of these magazines on one of your Tommy gun prototypes?

If it looks as cool as I think it will I may really need to start saving for a few of them.

There's got to be a way to make a semi functional larger capacity mag for these guys.

On that note, Both Fun Gun and MRAr15 have some pretty good ideas. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm considering selling some milsurps to afford a fake one :p

How solid is the fore grip on the gangster gun?

Fairly strong, however, this is the weak point of the Tommy design.
Real Tommy uses a thin steel strap front grip mount, it does flex.
My Kits use a thicker aluminum mount for more rigidity.
There is still some flex, but not very much.
Here's a pick of a couple genuine WW2 Tommys with the front grip bent upwards, life is hard for guns in wars:

So any ETA on your export permits?
Sorry, but I just had to ask.

LOL. I'm impatient, too!
Three weeks ago the Department of Defense called me on the phone with 64 questions! All seemed to go very well, and while the caller would not commit to an approval yet, all indications are that I will receive the approval as "Sporting Goods", OK for easy export to Canada.

I was warned that due to tightened export regulations last October (still unpublished), if the Kits are considered to be "Military Equipment" the chances of export approval are slim to none.

I explained to the DoD rep I talked to that unless somebody wanted to raise a 1930's style army wearing zoot-suits and arm them only with tin-can killing .22LRs, that the military applications for the Kits were extremely limited. I got a laugh, understanding and an informal approval!
2-3 more weeks for the formalities of approval to be done and issued.
Maybe sooner, they said my application was well prepared and complete. They appreciated the all the paperwork effort and indicated my request would go through their system quickly.

Tick

Tock

Slowly moves the clock.

I am also working on a dummy drum "sandwich" cover set for the MWG 50 round stick / tear drop shaped mags. The MWG mag works very well so this is a viable solution for now. Prototype is being made now, I'll post photos when ready.
Here's a youtube vid of the MWG in full auto action.
It's a odd, slow video. Have patience!

Woohoo!

No point for this post, just doing a happy little dance and watching this thread like a hawk.

P.S. - MrAr15 - you're awesome.

Fun Gun - Are those MWG 50 mags available in canada, or one of those things that vaporizes when it hits the us/can border?

Fun Gun has made his own drum mag but it doesn't hold 50 rounds as you know, it's just a dummy.

The MWG ones are considered high capacity magazines in the USA and are not exportable by normal informal channels. There are, however, a few sellers who will ship to Canada regardless of the stupid laws.

I always have a spare 10/22 around for projects...Now if that drum mag held 100+ rds that would be the best! Hell I would pay whatever the creator asked for that .
