1022 Tommy Gun Kit

Then enlighten me please .

Well, I'm waiting for MrAR15 to make his kit available, and for the FunGun kits to be imported. Dunno if that's very enlightening per se, but it's the situation as I see it.

My guess is that the Anderson Arms kits are the same as the ones from 10/22fungun.com. At least the pictures are identical, and the pricing seems close when adjusted for exchange.

What I'm really waiting for is a 3/4 top down picture of the fungun version. Every picture I've seen so far is from a bit below horizontal, and I'm really curious if that's a coincidence, or if things don't look Thompsonish from the top and that's why there aren't any views from that angle.

I've got the 10/22 fungun kits instock.

I don't have any complete rifles built up...so I can't supply any pictures. I've sold several to some fellow CGNers, perhaps they could post some pic's.

The kit is solid and heavy duty. The stock and wood grain is excellent.

The rear sight could be removed and a small red dot fit in between the two side rails. I tried one of the small pistol red dots but it was slightly too large. There will be holes drilled and tapped for the rail that normally comes with your 1022 and will be located on top of the receiver just behind the ejection port.

BTW, just to let everyone know, we are working towards having a 1022 Thompson kit available for market by mid summer, if not sooner. Price has not yet been determined but I can guarantee it will be less than the cost of a new car! But really, the cost will be reasonable.

John

The original serial number on the receiver must remain visible.

.....

As long as its there and hasn't been defaced, altered, removed, it CAN be covered. I posted this question in legalese. Plus I called the CFC. If you really want to be above and beyond legal, call the CFC ,and get a free serial number sticker. (free for $2 billion). :D

MrAR15's kit might not be legal in Canada, the serial number of the Ruger appears to be covered.

MrAR15's kit does look a little nicer then the 1022 fungun, however, His kit is not available...?!?

I had checked a long time ago with the RCMP about the issue of a serial number and having it visible. In short, we will have a milled slot on the left side for the serial number. This will prevent you from having to strip it down if you recevie a demand to show the serial number for purpose of verification of registration.

The prototype Thompson that I have been posting pics of is just that, a prototype. Its more to find out what kind of problems may occur as the rifle is used. All of the extra detailing has not been added to this version. There will be engraving on both sides, the milled slot for the serial number, the safety will be available to use as well as other little niceties. Stay tuned folks. We are making progress and moving forward. I will keep you all apprised.

This isn't the MrAR15 thompson is it? Looks much more crude than the MrAR15 prototype.

I'm definitely interested. Canadian made sounds great, and I understand you can't put a price tag on it... but less than a small car eh? Mine was worth $400 when I last ran it in 2008:D:D:D

Negative, if you notice the MrAR15 Prototype encloses the trigger group, and makes for a cleaner look imo.

As I will be starting from scratch.........is there any recommendation for the ruger 10/22? By that I mean you can by the basic in 18.5 and 16" barrels or you can bull barrles etc. Man...........I can hardly wait...........!!

what hapened to anderson arms? I cant find their website anymore! I was just wondering how their tommy gun kit selling went

I agree, MrAR15's Kit looks pretty sweet. I'll consider buying one for myself (when there ready). Until then, The 1022 Fungun "Chicago" Kit is all we got! ...I've got only one left!

If anyone wants more...We'll bring more in, as the orders come!

Question directed to Mr AR15.

What is the magazine that you are using as the stick mag?

Is it a standard 10 round magazine with a faux metal bottom, or is it a full real magazine?

It would be pretty cool if it was like a 25 round stick mag.

Either way, will you have replacement magazines available?

And on another note, on the final version, will the 50 round drum fit on?
