Depends on what your thoughts are and what you are looking for.
In some respects, the Norc beats the Springfield in terms of affordability and reliability. Usually by a factor of about 2x? (@$500 for a Norc and $1000+ for a SA M1A)
On the other hand...
Norc QC has been in question (as it always is) but Springfield lately has taken fire for using cast components.
Either or, I think the Norc is a fantastic rifle as is the SA, but Norc needs a little work to get them where you want to be.
With the work put into a new Norc, you will still be under the price point of a new SA M1A. Food for thought![]()
Where can I get either one and then do some more reasearch/
Where can you find a SA M1A for anywhere near $1000? I'm pretty sure you mean $2000+
Which is better?
I remember seeing a used one for that price.
Fairly certain P&D has one on their wall for $1200 (not the SOCOM 16 listed on their website) atleast two weeks ago when I was in there. Strangely enough, they still list my Swiss Arms for sale and it's been sold awhile ago.
Can't say for sure but Norinco has apparently fired up the M305 production line again. Who is going to get them I also can't say but the buzz is that Bell was trying to buy a few thousand.

What or Who is "Bell"?
