Sage EBRs in canada.....I think.

What are these things going to cost? Am I better off sticking with a Troy MCS? They are more aesthetically pleasing, but I don't know if it performs better. What is the weight of the Sage EBR on it's own?

Re: Price

Was quoted CDN MSRP to be around 1K for the telescoping stock version.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Troy MCS come with a integral picatinny scope mount.

If you want to mount a scope on a Sage don't you have to resort to a Smith mount or whatever?

Sorry for the questions (not bashing Sage). I'm new to M-14's and like my scopes!

Ya, the Troy does have a rail that extends all the way to the rear sight so mounting an optic is a breeze. Also, it won't lose zero when you take the stock off to clean.

Buying the Sage will entail a new scope mount which is another $200 or so.

The Sage EBR stock's top rail stops at the reciever, so if you're interested in mounting something there, you'll need a separate scope mount.

You can use the SAGE Detachable Cantilevered Sight Base, the LaRue LT-608 or the LaRue SPR-E mounted backwards.
Both the SAGE sight base and LT-608 require rings, the SPR-E has integral rings.

Canadians have a bit of a problem getting access to the LaRue kit here :(
