I put through about 80 rounds of SA ball 7.62 X 51 when one of the arms of the flash hider detached and bent out. Didnt notice anything strange to that point and was shooting slowly for accuracy, not blasting away. I've put between 500 and 1,000 rounds through it in total. I've had the rifle for approx 1.5 years so warranty from Marstar is expired.
Any suggestions on how this happened? I expect that the flash hider needs to be replaced not fixed. Any suggestions for a gunsmith north of the GTA in Ontario (I go to Epps a few times a year)?
Also, on a side note, I replaced the piston rod with the larger Marstar version and I had problems with shooting doubles and not cycling properly. I put the original piston rod back and it works fine.
Overall I am very happy with the rifle, pretty accurate without any mods, except for the flash hider of course.
