Glock 9mm barrel in g22

Conversion barrel? Nope, just use the stock G17 barrel in the G22 slide with G17 mags and functions perfectly. May be different on newer generation Glocks but both mine are Gen2's.

No, but you can shoot 9mm through your .40. No conversion required!

Do you mean taking a stock G22, putting a 9mm round in the pipe and firing it?

From what I understand, it will work, but only for one shot. The case will likely rupture, you'll get a FTE and you'll need to ram a dowel down the barrel to dislodge the ruptured case.

I'm curious as to whether you've actually tried this. If so, what type of ammo were you using?

This just got confusing.

I bought a 9mm barrel from a guy on CGN a few years ago. It was meant to convert the 40 Glock to a 9mm. (You can use a glock barrel in 9 mm as well). The barrel was made in Germany, can't think of the name at the moment, (not Glock). It is very accurate and was a cheap way to have a new gun basically. The gun works flawlessly using 9mm Glock mags. I didn't have to change the extractor either. The fellow I bought it from said you might have to but it has never been an issue. The bonus is you can shoot lead bullets as well as jacketed in the 9mm. The .40 mags will work but you do get ftf's once in a while. It was easier just to get some 9mm glock mags.

As I said, it was a cheap way to get another Glock. Changeover is 30 seconds.

Its works just fine with a standard G17 barrel in a G22 slide as well, or at least it did on the gen1 and gen2's. If anything has changed on the innards since, then maybe a conversion barrel is required but still you require the 9mm mag for proper feeding as stated earlier.
Cheers

Pretty much, though the casing didn't travel down the tube, it just fell out of the chamber when the slide was racked back. I doubt very much that the bullet itself was stabilized. I've done this 2-3 times before I realized it. Glock has to start colour-coding the magazines or something. I obviously couldn't be bothered to verify the ammunition I'm supposed to be shooting.

You can get different colored floorplates or you want to go cheaper paint them yourself. Personally, I just make sure I put the right ammo in the right firearm. I remember reading that during my PAL/RPAL course...
