Do it often. Works just fine. Just dont try the reverse of putting a g22 bbl on a g17slide.

Do you have a conversion barrel from 40 - 9?? That's the only way I can see it working.
Yeah me too...Isn't the ejection port on the G22 way too big for the G17 barrel to lock up?
Did somebody use 9mm barrel and mag in G22?
Thank you
No, but you can shoot 9mm through your .40. No conversion required!

Do you mean taking a stock G22, putting a 9mm round in the pipe and firing it?
From what I understand, it will work, but only for one shot. The case will likely rupture, you'll get a FTE and you'll need to ram a dowel down the barrel to dislodge the ruptured case.
I'm curious as to whether you've actually tried this. If so, what type of ammo were you using?

Pretty much, though the casing didn't travel down the tube, it just fell out of the chamber when the slide was racked back. I doubt very much that the bullet itself was stabilized. I've done this 2-3 times before I realized it. Glock has to start colour-coding the magazines or something. I obviously couldn't be bothered to verify the ammunition I'm supposed to be shooting.
Personally, I just make sure I put the right ammo in the right firearm. I remember reading that during my PAL/RPAL course...
