Ah yes, turkey huntng. You get up in the middle of the night to stumble around in the dark, putting your eye out with sharp sticks, to sit on the cold damp ground until it is daylight, when the black flies begin to feast upon your blood. And by now your butt is so cramped you think you have been violated by a troop of baboons, you are just about crazy from the flies in your ears, up your nose, down your neck etc etc, but you can't move for fear of spooking the bird that probably isn't there anyway. All the while you are attempting to outsmart a critter with a brain the size of a pea, and HE usually wins the battle of wits. Yep, turkey hunting season is here for sure.
The crappies were biting yesterday..............on my jigs, and not in my ears like the black flies.
And it is a windy rainy day here in Kingston at 0430, not a particularly good day for turkeys OR crappies. I think I hear my bed calling me back to it........
