Wow....$99 pistol....Norinco M213

Glad I ordered two some weeks ago. My RPAL not going to get process for god knows how long. I've been hearing standard 1.5-2 months wait and 5 months. Time will tell, but all I know is, mine are paid already and they're holding it for me. :)

Now, I want the Norinco SKS (or similar), shot gun, Glock 17, S&R 29 (or 629) and more. My wallet is going to get really light when I eventually stop buying Norinco's. hahha

Shot the second one last night. Some changes though. I took out the magazine spacer and ran with the wider "spacer included" magazines from Lever. Some tweaking of the magazine lips was needed but the rounds still don't feed well. I got two magazines to feed OK over around 16 rounds but two others still won't feed the nose of the bullet up the ramp. It just sticks. The ramp hasn't been polished yet so that MAY be the issue but it also seems to be related to how the magazines seat. The notch is very slightly lower than on the stock magazines so some sort of mod may be needed. Mostly it seemed to help to just pinch flare the forward edge of the lips on the magazines so the cartridge can start to pivot up a touch sooner. Anyhow, I'll be taking and hosing some pictures soon and do a new thread write up.

The other thing that has to go or be modified is the darn safety lever. On both of them my grip tends to slide the lever forward to a mid point setting where it forces a disconnect early and the hammer crashes down onto the half #### and stops..... sure tells you if your flinch is gone or not :D

We really need a single group thread for mods and fixes similar to this purchase and gloat thread. All the various folks posting makes it hard to keep it all together. Thoughts on this? Moderators?

Anyone else running with the Lever Arms wide mags that has had any issues?

Im just running the stock mags, but of the 6 mags I have, one has both a feed and a release issue. I havnt really sat down and tried to figure it out yet, but my 10 second 'thats weird' look over, I noticed the top of the mag is shaped a little differently (not the lips, but the front side where the follower pops up) also the notch for the release has a different shape than all the others

1st M213 ordered April 29 arrives May 7 just as I finished placing my second order with CanAm. Looking forward to BCRider's photo thread on the mods as well as NOTSORICH's further results of polishing efforts and everybody else who has contributed performance results. Keep sharing the info guys, lots of us are reading, learning and looking forward to sharing results.
Just like Notsorich, will polish the rough edges and put a mirror finish to the feed ramp. Will give my 1st baby a steady diet of reloads on her first trip to the range. Results to follow!!!

For all those who ordered prior to May 7 - lucky for us - CanAm has posted "out of stock" for the Norinco M213 today!!!!!
 
CanAmmo posted earlier in this thread that these were the last in exhistance they are no longer making this model..... He bought all of the remaining stock...... and blew them out at awsome prices!

If you didn't get one, and you are kicking yourself...... just go to the next g-show, or check the EE in a week or 2..... You will find one for $300+

A Phone call to CanAm resulted in this answer - There will be no further incoming shipments of the Norinco M213.

It was mentioned in a previous post the Norinco M213 was banned by the Clinton administration and sat in a warehouse till CanAm got it for a "deal". That was confirmed over the phone today.

Let's hope CanAm finds another stash of some banned firearm in some other land and bring them home. A great retailer who passes on the "good deal" to us buyers.
 
well I really should have read the 1545 post before mine. I was going to get a membership to a gun club on monday and put in my order... Damn procrastination. Should have figured that it wouldnt last forever.
 
Crap, I can't believe I debated about wether to buy a $99 pistol, I guess I missed out they're all gone now

I don't doubt that there will be many of these exchanging hands over the next couple of years.

I know I bought two so I could practice my gunsmithing chops on some cheap lumps of metal. I suspect I'll end up keeping one and selling the other. And assuming I don't make a botchup of one it should hopefully be a pretty sweet shooting chunk of metal with nice wood grips.

Glad I got my 2. Finished deburring them and polishing the internals and all that fun work. They function great (for $100) but still need to shoot them. Tomorrow hopefully.

Likely not for a few months. He'll want them to "mature" a little so he can charge more.
 
OOS! Now I'm really glad I didn't wait until my RPAL arrives. I'm glad I bought two instead of one! Sent my PAL/RPAL apps last week. Been checking my status online already. I guess they won't touch it for 28 days (supposedly).
