Anyone have one of those Butler Creek or other brand of gizmo for speeding up loading high capacity 10/22 mags? Wondering if its a gimmick, or if it really works well. It gets to be a drag after about round no 15 filling those mags.

ive seen them used seem to work well.. Id shoot way to much ammo if I used it so I decided not to get one..

They work really really well. A must have for the 10/22 volume shooter. I can't imagine loading high cap mags by hand anymore.

do they work with any mag, even the stock 10 round roto mag?

Nope, only the high cap mags. Not that it matters, its not that challenging or time consuming to load a rotary magazine.

EDIT: see comment below, apparently they do work for the rotary mag

so they are good on my new to come promag 50 round drum and 32 banana clip?

I think they will do the drum, but I am really not sure, if it has the same type of feeding block on the top, I would expect that they can with no problem.

my butler creek one will load both my 25 rounders and the stock 10 rounder no problem the only isue is sometimes you gotta fiddle the knob to make sure it feeds

I haven't used the ramline, I use BC with BC mags and they're sufficient. I think the regular price for a BC speedloader is a little over $25.

I've got the Ramline feeding BC steel lips. It works great as long as you black tape it together first, at the mouth where the mag clips in. Otherwise it could grenade on you, and those little springs are a ##### to find in grass. I also put an elastic around the loading tray to keep the lid down. Also rigged up a spinning handle for it, otherwise you only get 180* turn at a time.
But after all the dickin around, it is allot faster than without.

I do.. if I dont id be shootinf 100+ each time I go shooting and its alot.. (thats thats money for ammo)

I just came back from Cabella's and WSS Winnipeg, neither has them in stock. They did have a nice shelf full of Steel Lips 25 round mags, and I picked one up. Wish they had them before I bought the hot lips. WSS has put one of the Butler Creek speed loaders on order for me, and hopefully I'll get it in a few weeks. They had in stock a Stoney Point 10/22 loader, but I'm reluctant to buy something that no one here has mentioned they used and liked. Maybe its good, maybe not.

Did it sound like it was special order? Or will they be getting a bunch in?
