Good rifles chambered in 7.62x39?

I think they are all "decent" rifles, the limiting factor is the caliber. It was designed for "battle ranges", ie. less than 300m. You can't expect it to do what an ar15 can, but then again, it will do the job straight through a big tree under 300m. If you want a tack driver, there are better choices. Then again, I've got 4 7.62x39 pushers, and I love 'em.

The CZ527 in 7.62x39mm seems to be a good rifle. With surplus Norinco ammo I can shoot 2-2.5MOA all day long. With handloads one can shrink that down to 1MOA and less. The 7.62x39mm round gets a bad rap for accuracy because everyone is pumping it through 4-6MOA rifles...

ruger makes a bolt action rifle chambered in it too. i think a mk II. probably the best rifle in this cartridge as you can really up the pressure even beyond what the cz mini-mauser can handle. the semi-auto's are a blast though

Since we can't get AK-47 variants, look at the Vz-58. Also, the rasheed carbine and vz-52/57 would be excellent 7.62 x 39 rifles. The mini-30 would also be a good choice, if you are willing to spend nearly 1 grand. The Remington 799 mini-mauser was chambered for this round aswell. If price is an issue, a Norinco Jw-103 bush ranger would be a decent rifle.

The CZ527 in 7.62x39 seemed to be a really good piece, shot well, was comfortable in all three positions, and allowing for my unfamiliarity with someone else's scope, quite accurate. I'd have no hesitation in buying one if I saw one for sale and had the cash.

FWIW.

Worse yet they are often handled by people that do not know how to shoot any rifle with proper form or know how to adjust a rifle stock to fit better.

And worth every penny.

From a sellers point of view.

haha you had me riled up when i read the first part, and giggling like a little girl at the second.
i dont know why anyone would want to pay that ammount for the pig of a gun that is the Valmet.

people here struggle to sell them for $1500-$2000 ..

thats like $800-$1000 for you fellas

The truth is it's as close as a Canadian can get to an owning an AK47 that can actually be shot.

You should round five of them up and export them to Canada. You'd make a bundle.
