How long do bolt buffers last, generally speaking.

The one I have is pretty flexible (as I'm sure they all are). How many rounds do you figure they are good for before they wear through?

Do they do anything? On my 10/22, I'm not convinced the bolt is smacking the bolt stop. There's no sign of wear on the stop, which I would expect if the bolt was smacking it for thousands of rounds.

Shooting my 10/22 that didn't have one V. my buddies that does there is a pretty noticeable difference.

If definately hits it. You'll notice the 'clink clink' when firing turns into a lighter 'clack clack' when you install a buffer.

Yes, it does something. Yes, it's worth the $10. No, you won't EVER wear one out!

the one I have was 5 bucks its just a peice of ruber by the looks of it.. but.. 5000 rounds in 2 weeks dont see any tears cracks or marks on it.. so they should last a long time worst comes to worse buy a new one for 5 bucks or go find the thing they make them out of in the hardware store..

Put in a bolt buffer. I don't notice any difference. In fact, I'm getting more stovepipe jams than before. That could be due to differences in lubrication following a thorough cleaning. Or, it could be the PC parts I installed, hammer and sear. They came with different springs. The hammer spring was a lot more robust.

I just installed a tuffer buffer in mine and put about 200 rounds through it. There IS a difference. Especially when firing CCI Velocitors, the clacking is gone. Much smoother feel and no issues.

for tuck sakes will the spending end for this thing....now you guys sold me on Tuffer Buffers. Where's the best place to get em??..

Are you using standard or high/hyper velocity .22 rds? I think if your going to fire the hyper velocity rnds the buffers are a must. I noticed a difference in my 10/22 as the action didn't make the hard clack and there was less jarring of the whole gun after installation. The bolt buffer is the only mod I have done to my 10/22 and its very reliable.

I've only shot American Eagle 40 gr solids through it so far. Around 250 rounds on Sunday. They just call them "High Velocity" not hyper. I wonder if the heavier hammer spring is causing the stovepipes? The other factor is that I used a different lube on the bolt. I used a light liquid gun oil instead of G96 that I previously used.

My guess would be the springs, my 10/22 shoots the American Eagle plated HP, Winchester Xperts and CCI mini mags flawlessly. In fact I think I can count the number of malfunctions I've had with the gun on one hand, and thats in 1500 or so rnds.

I did have issues with a BC Steel Lips mag but that straightened out after a few hundred rnds to break it in.

i shot cci mini mags out of mine and put in the buffer and did not like it , got some jams so i pulled it out.

The guy at Wholesale Sports in Lethbridge didn't want to sell me the Mini Mags for my 10/22 until I told him I had a bolt buffer in it, said they would be to harsh on the gun
