So far, all of my gold bayos are matching
My lone gold bayo is a 51, all matching including stock, looks to be unrefurbed but very good blueing and excellent bore.

If all #'s are matching, why do you figure the bolt was painted black? Most of the painted black bolts are EP'ed.

Hey Woodbeef,
I have seen that floor somewhere before....
Does it still have the original bolt?
Where are the refurb marks from?
Hey woodbeef, I also have an SKS of 1952 vintage that doesn't have a chrome plated bore and has all matching numbers. None of the numbers are electropenciled or ###xx over and re stamped, including the stock. The bolt is painted black as well. It does have the refurb stamp on the bolt cover but for the life of me, I can't find a replacement part on the rifle. It did have a problem though, the sear wouldn't release when the trigger was pulled. It needed a little judicious stoning and all was OK. I did do a spring replacement to keep things working smoother though as an after thought. SKS rifles as issued have the worste trigger pull of any milsurp on the market.
Woodbeef your an SKS God...
How many do you have now?
