PAL "in progress"

How typical of Beautiful Beauracratic British Columbia :jerkit:
I'll give the CFO's office a direct call. As the operator at the CFC couldn't do anything for me. I really hope it doesn't drag on for months.

My application is now saying your license has been issued,if you don't receive it in 2 weeks give us a call !!
It's been 28 days today since they had there hands on it.No one has been called or contacted............so what happens now ? Is it seriously in the mail and on it's way back ?
Thanks for any advice.
TM.

Yep, seriously been issued. lucky man, you.

Got transferred to BC CFO office, guy was a complete sarcastic prick.. Just asked what's up and if there were any issues with my application as it had been two weeks since it was transferred to the prov office. He seemed to take some sort of offense to my curiosity. Made a snyde remark to the degree of "No one should be in a hurry to get their firearms license"... Then tried to explain to me the system 28 days wait blahblah. Which I'm well aware of and have already waited. I wouldn't consider 50 days to be particularly 'quick' in my books. He just retorted with a "well, some people's have been here for months"... great, I guess I can expect the same.

Attitude man... :-(

If I had the balls (and I wouldn't b/c he could easily delay it even more). I would say... Thanks to us, you have an over paid desk job and one that requires no deadlines to meet. I can go on but I'll leave it at that.

Tomorrow will be a week after I got the processed and issued status. I hope my plastic arrives on or before Friday, I want to go shopping this weekend!

One should be careful how they address and respond to both the people in the CFO and CFC.

Did not say you wernt. Just general advice

you dont need to be polite just professional...

Nordland, next time you call the B.C CFO office ask to either speak with the officer who has your file or to a supervisor... after they have it for 28 day's there is no reasonable cause to delay you.

I started the dialogue with "Hi, I'm just wondering if there are any issues pertaining to my license application, perhaps missing information? I've been waiting for 50 days, the website informed me to call the CFC after 45 days to sort out any possible issues, I was just transferred here."

Thanks for the advice Hotwheels81, next call is hopefully my last call. I don't like being interrogated and talked to in a condescending manner over the phone by the lieberal created gun Gestapo... save the 20 minute phone hold up. I was thoroughly put off by this guy's remarks... "No one should be in a rush for their firearms license..." 'I am in no hurry.' and "Oh, 50 days? that's not long, we've had apps here for months" 'oh, okay.. I suppose I was mis-informed about wait times by the CFC' and "Issues? should there be issues with your application?" 'Not to my knowledge' "You ever been in trouble with the police?" 'No.' "Ever been to Vancouver(former address)?" 'Yes, of course.' Trouble with the police there?" 'No, not to my knowledge.'

:kickInTheNuts:

I have no criminal/mental health record of any kind. It would just be nice to have things all ready for hunting season. Get the ball rolling on a nice rifle to call my own. I almost regret applying for the RPAL if I'm going to be waiting til' ragnarok... I just figured, why not? why shouldn't I? I scored high on my tests. I wish I had the conversation recorded for you guys to hear. I think you'd be in awe. Anyways I'm done #####ing. Thanks fellas, you've been great help. I'll let you know when it finally gets here.

Ya im going through the same kind of thing ,,,, did all my interview over the phone... One of my referances forget to tell me they were out of the country working for awhile after they signed so I then had to have them resend the info yadadyaa , so ive mailed it in againwith new referance over 3 weeks now I call them. I just ask if i could have my new referance call in , she goes well no cause we havent recieved the paper work yet... Im like over 3 weeks , then she goes oh well we just havent opened it yet , So now I have a longer wait . Initially was recieved in the beginning of April .....

Just finally got in the online system now, mailed it in on May 27.

Just a comment about all this... Once you guys get your licence, you'll gonna have fun trying to interpret the laws and wait times (if not known already), especially for the restricted stuff. My RPAL is in the mail. It's 8 days now. Maybe it's in the mail box right now. But I doubt it... Me thinks it's going to take up those full 2 weeks just to give some higher power the jollies.

I have to say, being a future firearm owner and knowing the laws is HARD! I can't even confirm what actually happens if a restricted firearm happens to end up at the post office for me to pick up! Forget calling the CFO... They'll give you yes or no answer too!

I'm such a noob with so many noob questions. I'm going to hang in the newbie forums and legalese for years!

What steps are still left if I put in my name and it comes up with this? This is still prior to reference checks and such right?

finally got my pal after 4 months and being told once that I had the wrong papers, at least I was priority when I sent back the good ones.

I firmly believe that some of the CFO's etc just go on power trips or decide to be lazy.I got my license in 30 days and i had previous criminal charges and a prior firearm ban,AND im from bantario. Then i read some of your guy's stories and that youve been waiting 50+ days with no previous criminal records or anything like that and your still jerked around. Please explain to me how this makes any sense other then that the particular CFO your dealing with decided he dint like your name/face and decided to make you wait OR just plain utter good ol canadian government laziness.

I never thought of that. I have a shaved head and i'm a bigger guy so if cops have no problem profiling me for no reasons, and they do, than what stops the cfo office from doing the same?
