After attempting to shoot the Win333 last weekend i would say the AE no question... it seemed like about a 1/4 of the 333 i shot was deformed enough to no feed in my 10/22. The stuff that wouldn't feed was also difficult to extract from the magazine by hand.
New twist to the debate. I can buy AE22s for 4.5¢/round ($1.79 for a 40 round box) vs. 3.8¢/round for 333s ($12.64 for the bulk box). So, are AE22s worth an almost 20% premium over 333s?
I prefer the Winchesters.
$1.79 is cheap. The best price I've found this year was $2.29 at Peavey Mart. Crappy Tire has them on for $2.99 a box.

......would you rather shoot American Eagle 38 gr. Plated HP (AE22)....
The 40-grain RN is not a fave, huh?![]()
Nah... I'm OCD about lead...and copper looks cool...
Truth be known, I do want to avoid lead as much as I can. My 60 year old home has some lead pipes, and I shoot a lot of pellets in my basement. So, I figure wherever I can cut back on lead is a good thing.
Also, I can't find any American Eagle 40-grain RN that are less expensive than the AE22s.
