I have an HKP7 with a single MAG THROUGH IT! (practically brand new) for $1250.. substantially less than I paid for the thing one week ago new and in better shape than any of the other PSPs that come up on the EE and I haven't had a single concrete offer on the thing yet. Somebody make me a frickin' offer!!
Seriously though, the HKP7 is a sweet gun. I was hesitant about accepting the trade on my first one. It's kind of ugly and I have not been that impressed with HK in the past. I'm glad I did and I'm glad I discovered P7s because they're really unique and changed the way I felt about compact pistols and close quarters / point shooting.
Only thing I can say is that P7s are a little more rare (they shouldn't be, but they are), it is a unique design, functions unlike other pistols, is above average quality/craftmanship and is ridiculously reliable. That's all it has going for it which is a lot but yes, they are pricey. The one thing I like about P7s is they go for relatively the same price as G19s, G26s, Sig 239s and other reliable compact/sub-compact firearms yet are waaaaay ahead of any of those pistols I just mentioned.
Then again, I remember not too long ago when you couldn't get a new Glock as a civillian for less than $799. Sig 229s were in the $1300 price range without a rail and without any fancy sights.
Hopefully firearm prices will keep going down so that when I get buying again I can take advantage of some deals.
Tim.
