Anyone ever tried these? I just ordered a set from Brownell's, I'm just curious of the quality, if they work good etc. etc.

I have had mine for a year or so now. I have been able to use them on my EOTech during a couple of exercises. They are great for keeping dust and #### off the lenses during storage and transit, without needing the seperate soft cover.
As for the covers being another step to deploying your rifle - They're just like any other scope caps out there: Use common sense and open the covers before you'll need your optics.

I have one on my Eotech. I find that the fit is not perfect. It is fine for a range rifle but could be better for something that will be used in a real world environment. It is better than nothing though. Weight? Ya if you are a weak kitten, it adds some weight.

I used a set on my personal EOtech during my deployment. I found them to be very useful in keeping out the sand and debris from the lenses. They are very light made of some type plyable plastic. The fit of my set is very good.

Deployment is very easy, with the flick of your off-hand thumb. It takes a fraction of a second. If you are going to be using them, use common sense as the previous poster mentioned...open them well before using your rifle and sighting system.

There were a number of guys using them during my tour (that's where I first got the idea to purchase).

Thanks for the first hand feed back, Im glad to hear you got back from your tour safe and sound....

They're useable. On a side note they make a great training aid. If you or someone else is having an issue keeping both eyes open you can force them to by leaving the front cover closed. With both eyes open you can still make hits thanks to the nature of the human body and its ability to use images from both eyes. If you close your eye, you only see the reticle on a black background. You can also make a little betting money off those who don't understand two eye open shooting. ;)

It also helps hide the fact your batteries are dead most of the time, eh?
