is there a revolver with a 4 1/4" barrel

Was a Bashaw Sports, and was shown that Ruger was coming out with a 4 1/4 in revolver this year! Cant remember the model number, but was a 357mag. give them a call.

I was at a gun shop near my house and they had a brand new Ruger GP100 with a 4.25" barrel that ruger is apparently making for the Canadian market, at first I thought it was prohib but I was wrong. Beautiful gun by the way.

Not to slag this thread but whats the point anyway?

Even a very short barrelled revolver is a lot longer than most normal autoloaders. Its not like we can concealed carry either one anyway. I would never go to the bother of getting one shortened seeing as most models come with barrels between 4 and 5 inches as it is.

The point is not to try and get the shortest gun but to get the shortest revolver you can buy if you are not grandfathered for prohibited handguns. There is a lot to be said for a 4" revolver. The balance is nice and the shorter sight radius is good for quicker use.

the 4 inch s&w whatever model was "supposed" to be the "ideal "police weapon for many years- right weight, right balance, good trigger, etc- trouble is that shooters found this out on their own, and that's why it went PROHIB- the 4 inch is just too damned handy esp in the 357/38 and too popular- the next step was supposed to be 5 inch in graduated steps till they all get prohib status- i've got a 5.5 inch but it's in 44 mag, and i found that to be just about ideal

I bought one also:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
I have to wait for it to be delivered hopefuly tuesday or wednesday.
Transfer was almost instant so yeah kudos to the cfc.
Now i need to find some ammo for it.I went and sold all my other stuff when i sold my last 357.
Anyone know who has 357 in case lots?

Now that you mention it I have tried a few prohib revolvers that had a nice balance to them.

Stupid a** rule anyway.
