First off, good job on the refinish - it will go a long way to ensuring that your rifle will stay happily by your side for many a year. If you are happy with it, then kudos to you.
I just wish that it hadn't been a milsurp. Unfortunately, even mismatched, it was probably worth more as an SVT-40 before the verathane and duracoat then after. However, if you are not worried about it's resale or collector value, then it's a moot point.
At any rate, this rifle may very well make someone an interesting project gun someday. Duracoat can be stripped, and the stock can be refinished. As far as I can tell, there wasn't anything done to this rifle that isn't reversable in the proper hands. It's not like he chopped the barrel of an Enfield, or drilled and tapped for a scope.
