old Remington 721 in Hollands' Super 30.....UPDATE

Make sure the recall on the safety has been done before using.

Thanks for posting that link, Swifty. I have a 721 300 H&H that hasn't had it done yet. I'd never heard of the problem before. Too bad the form says it is only for the U.S.. Does anyone know if there is a program for Canadian guns? Thanks.

that safety recall is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

I can remove the bolt locking safety myself in 10 minutes, half of which is spent taking the safety lever off and reassembly and the other half grinding the tab a bit.....I have done it many times on 721,722,600/660,Sevens and 700's.

Well boys, a little bird called me today and said a package was ready for pickup......... those "after" pics don't do this gun justice, it is real nice.

Mounted an early Weaver V7, just fits in the rings on that long base spacing, like it was made to fit this gun.
Now to get some loads figured out.

Thanks Rick, you rock!

The 721 was Remington's utility rifle. Just a plain Jane that had a reputation for being very acccurate.

Noel, you keeping this for yourself? Wasn't it supposed to go to a certain family member?:p:D

Hey man!

No it's not for me. As nice as it is I don't have a niche for a H&H to fill right now. Maybe some day but it wouldn't be quite like this one as nice as it is.

Let's just say someone is going to get one heck of a suprise next time the birthday cake is brought out. He's a lucky bugger to get this, that's for sure!

Loaded up some 200gr Speers over IMR4831 to sight it in this weekend. I hope it goes easy on my poor shoulder.:p Once that is tuned I will get the 200gr Accubonds tuned and pass the torch on for Elk season I hope.
