Hey there,
Last week I went to the range and tried a rental Beretta PX4 Storm. To compare it to the G17 which I rented the week before, the Beretta felt better in my small hands. It had a better trigger imo than the 2 other gun I tried (USP9 and G17). If felt a lot smoother and crispier. The first SA shot really surprised my as I wasn't aware it would fire so early.
I really liked the DA/SA (Although my DA shot were pretty bad). I fired using the same grip and stance as I did with the G17, but the recoil was much more pronounced on the Beretta. I wonder why? Gun balance? Higher bore axis? Lighter gun (I doubt it)?.
Anyway I pretty much enjoyed the pistol, the only think I didn't like was the manual safety on the slide. I'm not a big fan of that. I have a question about it though, if I load a mag in the pistol and rack it with the safety off, the pistol stays in SA. At some point, I put the safety back and it made the hammer drop. It really surprised me; It didn't fire (and I was pointing in a safe direction). I would guess the firing pin is blocked at that point?
Here is are my first 20 shots with the pistol, my first shots were somehow better than my lasts (2 shots to the left are DA
):

I'm still in the hunt for "the one", I would say right now, if I had to buy a pistol, it would be the G17 since it worked well the first time I tried it. I could only imagine the results I would get with some serious training
Please take note that all the pistol I tried were rentals, so the milleage may vary
I have yet to put my hands on a SIG P226 which is a pistol i'd really like to try before I decide to buy (can't find anyone with one and shop never has any in stock
)
