I'm trying to remove the stock liner screw from my norc M14 stock, without the proper tool of course. What ingenious tools have people developed to do this? I figured a hammer and punch would work but that would no doubt mar the screw head.

Many thanks.

I used something like a key one gets with those cheap plastic trigger locks. Didn't work for long.

It would be easy to drill two holes in a piece of bar or rod the same spacing of on the screw head and insert a appropriately sized drill bit or rod.

Or - you could make something that looks like an Enfield firing pin removal tool out of a piece of hollow steel tubing with two opposite opposed notches cut the same diameter as the screw head holes.

Grinder and Dremel + 1/2" drill chuck Key + 20 minutes = perfect tool for stock liner screw.

Total cost: $2.39 for chuck key.

Old socket, dremel with cutting disk, allen key to cut up for the dowels and a mig to tack it together.
